So do you want us to store 4 players of the same quality as Travis and Tronstad?ย

As I said, its clearly not possible to do that.

There is a middle ground between on par with them and someone who isnt (in my opinion) capable of starting without causing a huge drop in quality.

Baker proved that.

If your backup is so inferior to your starting 11, then you will really suffer as the season goes on. As we have seen.

With Forshaw returning and the supposed imminent signing of Tavares, it all points towards a couple of midfield departures.

Hopefully its Buckley and Garrett / JRC....but I have a bad feeling one of them is Travis.

Signing Tavares for potentially over a million quid has similar vibes to the situation with Gallagher getting sold to Stoke and then Gueye coming in as replacement for a similar fee.

I'll be gobsmacked if this doesn't mean one of Trav or Tronstad isn't on the way out. Sad.

Yes he said similar last summer about Travis would be likely sold and same with Dolan.ย https://www.brfcs.com/forums/topic/36874-the-summer-transfer-window-press-submit/page/169/#findComment-2603013

ย

Lets see what the fee is or see what type of player he is actually cos I take no-one has seen him?ย

Adam Owen has alot of contacts out there plus lets factoring in the scouting knowledge of our 2 senior scouts of Piotr Sadowski and Michael Cairneyย

Is Buckley or JRC players you would bring on to see a lead out or game changers?ย

Did you not think we need to move them on for the sake of their own career and playing regular football

I wouldn't want to bring JRC or Buckley on tbh. I agree with the 'poor athletes'ย  comments..ย  JRC runs like he's trudging through treacle and Buckley shuffles around the pitch like an old man.ย  ย

What I was getting at it is I'd prefer either of those over Foreshaw. I thought he was really poor other than the odd game last season and certainly did nothing (in my eyes) to warrant an extra year- especially in light of his years..

I'd be all for getting rid of JRC, Buckley, Foreshaw, Hedges, Pears, Hyam. Have a good clear out and reinvest, however my concern is we're the latter part.ย  Also, if we're not careful the squads going to lack any chemistry.

If Travares is travis's replacement, we could have shirts for the dyslexic.

Definitely on board with the Tavares signing. Good pedigree and good age. Think he'll be a good signing.ย

I'm almost certain he'll be the replacement for Travis though.

Travis is history from a Rovers perspective, imo, and we will next see his value on the pitch when we experience it in opposition colours in the coming season. Hopefully he will have some consideration for the long-suffering fans who have had to endure such a long and painful downgrading of expectations on and off the pitch. Not sure why you'd be gobsmacked, when the writing has been on the wall since the end of last season.ย

Look, if we are having a clear out, so that IV has a clean slate for next season, then so be it. But just get the fook on with it, and start a proper rebuild with bona-fide recruitment to a plan, rather than piecemeal hand to mouth getting by on a hope and ham sandwich.

Now, personally I'd be gobsmacked if there was a plan ๐Ÿ˜‰

VENKYS OUT!!ย

Have they flogged the fancy red and gold chair from the new home kit photoshoot material already

That blue chair was probably in Waggotts office, he doesn't need it anymore.

With all due respect... I'm not sure how you can say that unless you've watched him play numerous times.ย

I guess it comes down to whether there are three teams worse than Rovers next season. Don`t think Birmingham or Wrexham are two of them.

Its not just the lack of a proper budget, its the failure to tie decent Championship players down to anyย  reasonable contracts post Broughton. This neurotic obsession with cutting the wage bill!

Whatever VI certainly has his work cut out.

Forshaw, Tavares in/ Travis, Tronstad out?

That's the worry, midfield wasn't the priority but with 2 in 2 days, something must be afoot surely...ย ย

Absolutely no idea about this lad but it's certainly a more interesting signing than Forshaw, who we know is shite already.

There no way most of us are buying that they're ever going to pay anything close to 2 million. This also seems like poor journalism because I think is supposed to mean euros.ย

ย

We will never find out the initial fee but I refuse to believe they bought a player for over a million quid.ย
