But some on here want to argue the toss for the sake of it.

You'd only get someone like Batth played in his own position or at a push somewhere else on the back line if desperate they don't play him on the wing and say hey he's squad player.

These things are very rarely officially released but I remember seeing a few comments about it at the end of the season. 

He was on £15k at Argyl, so wouldn’t be too surprising given he only signed for 6 months with us - he wouldn’t take too much of a pay cut

I did explained my comments about football being a squad game and that every player a squad player apart from around 4 or 5 players who are key players

So here's a thought exercise for everyone.

Assuming Brittain is the last 'starter' to leave, what would you do in Gestede's place? Where do we need strengthening? Who needs shipping out? 

For mine:

• Sell Pears
• Sell Buckley
• Assess Duru or loan him out and bring in another RB
• Bring in a starting CB (possibly loan)
• Bring in another CM
• Bring in a RW (probably loan)
• Bring in a GK to challenge Toth

So even conservatively (I wouldn't expect to challenge for the Playoffs with that squad, unless that loan RW was sensational) we're 5 players short.

I agree with Selling Pears and Buckley. 

I would sign

• similar type of right attacking full back with similar qualities to Brittain 
• Bringing in keeper to complete,
• sign Ethan Pye from Stockport cos I don't see Kapuadi and he didn't look live he wanted to leave after today's post game celebrations 
• sign a right winger permanent 
• bring in a striker on loan

Sign a centre back, right back, right winger, attacking midfielder and striker. Maybe a second centre back as Carter is made of glass and Wharton has been out for yonks. The first 3 in particular need to be for the first 11. The first 3 or 4 in particular should be permanent additions. Maybe even an additional attacking player on top of that on loan.

And not just all punts from relegated teams in lesser foreign leagues. At least 2 or 3 should be domestic, we are losing a lot of experience. And im not talking token crap like Adam Forshaw.

Sort the contract situation of Travis, Tronstad and Hyam. Start by offering bloody contracts in the first place, although it might be too late. Travis is the one age wise where youd get a decent fee so youd probably have to sell, his replacement would need to be of the necessary quality to come straight in from day 1. And we would need leadership.

We need more leadership, we need more speed, we need more goals and we need someone who can take a proper set piece.

So not much.

So if Batth wasn't brought in as a key player then he was a backup player which was the original point.

Unless there is a difference between a backup player and a squad player. 

And if so, what is Forshaw 🤷‍♂️
