Side effects from cosmetic surgery are not uncommon ranging from pretty minor stuff to much more severe stuff. For elective surgery, I certainly wouldn't be going to Turkey! Also, heard some horrendous stuff about folk who have had dental work done in Turkey. Edited 3 hours ago by Mercer 1 Quote

In January the squad was running on absolute fumes and needed a major refresh to keep us in play off contention. I'd say the window was nothing short of a disaster. The marquis signing Kargbo went down with a serious injury after 2-3 games, barely anyone else who came in was match fit, only Ribeiro made any sort of contribution whatsoever and the manager walked out on the back of it. This window we've lost Batth and Dolan who were first team staples, Weimann who was a decent squad player and Brittain is likely to go as well. Mcloughlin might be an adequate replacement for Batth, other than that the guys who have come in are completely unproven. And that's the best case scenario, assuming neither Travis or Tronstad leave. As it stands at this precise moment I'd say it's another near disaster but Im sure Tommy will be along in a minute to remind me "It's a good job it's not the end of the window then!". Sorry, but you misunderstood the point of my post completely. I was asking the question if the previous transfer windows left our squad stronger or weaker, not if the windows got us what we needed or not. We can all agree it is too early to judge the current window. Turkey teeth that need replacing every two years lol Quote
roversfan99 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Bit of a strange twist. Yverdon Sport are playing right now, guess who is starting in midfield... 1 Quote

Ok then, to summarise, Summer 24 was imo quite a good one given we had limited funding. However I think you can largely disregard that for future purposes as John Park was still here then. I would still maintain January 25 was a disaster. We needed major reinforcements and got none. I'd even argue Ribeiro is quite a downgrade on Beck. Quote

I do wonder whether this could be the latest Venky strategy to save some money. Agree a fee and then negotiate down based on something incidental and clinically irrelevant picked up on a medical. 2 Quote
MarkBRFC Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I thought at the time that the Baradji medical had picked up an issue that could be an issue rather than him being injured right now. See how he comes through today, but if he gets through unscathed i cant see his club dropping the fee or axceptinf an alternative deal for him. Quote
Ossydave Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago You could still play with a stress fracture, with pain meds and/or a supportive brace, it won't do you any good like but it's possible. Quote
alexanders Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Think that was the case. Something underlying which could mean injury in the future. Quite risky to transfer in someone you know can become more on the injury table than the pitch. 1 Quote
Ossydave Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The game is viewable on Bet365 if anyones at a loose end and wants to see if he's any good BTW Quote

Yes, I mean it must have been something he was unaware of which hadn't been causing him any problems. Albeit, it was the close season. Think most of us will agree this one ain't happening despite Jackson desperately trying to keep it alive. 1 Quote

Pears went to Spain. Quote
alex l Posted 58 minutes ago Posted 58 minutes ago Members of a certain vintage will remember being stung by Martin Dahlin, who we did sign, and had a pre-existing issue which ended up as a bigger matter when playing for us. Given our limited finances, can't blame the club for being very cautious with the approach to Baradji 4 Quote
philipl Posted 32 minutes ago Posted 32 minutes ago Forgotten his name, but back in the late 60s or early 70s we blew our entire transfer budget on a player who retired from football without kicking a ball for us. I believe that resulted in the introduction of transfer medicals in the English game. Quote
