roversfan99 Posted July 31 Posted July 31 I wonder if the 2 or 3 is before any outgoings and Miller is on top of that. Also, seeing as Miller could potentially fill in at centre back, I wonder if this gives us more scope to fill those "2 or 3" spots purely in attack. As we are badly short there. Assuming Miller joins, I would say right wing, number 10 and striker are all bigger priorities than centre back and central midfield as much as we could do with more there aswell. Jackson keeps peddling the line that we want "competition" on the right. We dont, we want some really quality, not another Hedges. 2 Quote

Popular Post Ghost7 Posted July 31 Popular Post Posted July 31 My biggest gripe in losing Brittain isn't seeing him move clubs, it's the club he's moving to and the fact it's totally unnecessary. He is the perfect Rovers Championship player who should be staying with us a long time as we push to actually do something. It shouldn't have been hard to convince him to stay, so the question has to be asked to the board why can't we? He's not good enough to attract Premier League interest, so why the hell are we losing him and why is he so quick to jump ship in what will be a Eustace style sideways and confusing switch to Boro. On top of that it's the usual missed full revenue because Suhail Pasha is unable to orchestrate contract renewals proactively, or influence the owners to allow for attractive renewals of our better players into the budget. A basic function for an employee of his "level".ย The circumstances for this departure are horrible again, unacceptable. We have to get Pasha and Venky's out of this club. As a fan it's my main ambition for the season, it's all I want to see happen at the club now. Their time is up.ย Players want to leave because the club isn't managed properly, managers want to leave because the club isn't managed properly. When is the entire fan base going to wake up and see?ย The majority have. Sell the club and allow owners to come in who will appoint a proper CEO, and reconnect the fans at one of the best clubs in England. They should be ashamed. Get the club listed for sale!! 25 Quote

BigHoz Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Personally think brittain is one of the best RBs in the league, and therefore in my opinion weโve downgraded. Fear for the right hand side, if this miller isnโt very attacking and with hedges further up, it looks pretty bleak, hopefully some of the brittain money and whatever else we have lying around gets us a good Rw, pace, bit of tricky wouldnโt go a miss. Not just a happy weโve signed a RW. I want a starting 11 RW with hedges dropping to the bench. Bored of losing our better players now, always replacing with inferior players, itโs never a case of letโs upgrade, build on the better players we have. Rinse and repeat every year. Thatโs why weโve been stagnant for the last 15years.ย 4 Quote

Excellent post. Unfortunately for some all it takes is some transfer tittle tattle and all is well with the world. We haven't even tried to retain Brittain - no doubt the narrative will be getting rewritten in the coming days "We did our best to persuade him to stay" "It's a good deal to get cash for someone out of contract next year and didn't want to be here" "The new bloke is better" "We can't compete with Middlesbrough" All nonsense and lies. We haven't tried to keep him. At best we have made some limited efforts since April but I sincerely doubt that given we haven't even replaced the CEO and hadn't even sorted pre-season out until a week ago.ย Nor have we made any effort to keep the other players - we want rid of all of them for precisely the reason we are seeing now - it is a quick and easy way to get a cheaper player in and a few million into the coffers. Make no mistake they've been beavering away hoping a bidding war developed between rivals for Brittain, have decided to finalise this one and now will be turning their attentions to Travis and Tronstad. They are disgusting and a disgrace and should be nowhere near this club or any other professional football club. 12 Quote
