joey_big_nose Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I guess Morishita could go straight in against Norwich. In an ideal world we would want a few impact options from the bench. I guess this would give us Morishita and Gueye. Feels like we need a couple more. Another perm striker it is very good to hear we are chasing and I wonder if we will take a punt on a prem loan winger as well? Quote
Ricky Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Interesting that Morishitas best stats (and majority of games) have come from games where he’s been playing on the left. I’d assumed he was bought in for the right but his stats aren’t great from that side. Quote

Couldnt say a bad word about Tomasson until he left then regularly laid into him. Now predictably the same with Eustace. Will also only judge on results but still prefers Ismael because specfically he likes what he says in the media. 3 Quote

roversfan99 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Ismael has been very consistent in saying that we wanted one more, before sales, a right winger. Therefore I was always reasonably confident that we would get one. I am not sure if this new lad is specifically a right winger but he is an exciting addition to our attack and I am assuming that he is the winger/the 1 attacker before sales that we anticipated. We absolutely desperately need a striker but its never been mentioned by Ismael and it doesnt really align with any of the potential exits that now seemingly needs to happen. Its also hard to read into exactly what the policy is. Travis is leaving, was Baradji considered to be his replacement or was he a seperate case having initially failed a medical? Buckley was frozen out, will he be considered as someone who needs to be replacing? Will Pears? Leonard didnt even go away on tour, does he need replacing? Does the 1 in 1 out policy mean only direct replacements positionally? Could shifting a few mean that a striker is possible simply because the budget has been shifted about? I am not convinced by the likelihood of this transfer link. No way are we coming close to the fee suggested, and he seems to be strongly linked elsewhere, albeit at a much lower amount. But either way, it is of paramount importance that we bring in a striker. Its hard to predict exactly what will happen. Still lingering is the situation with Tronstad and Hyam. Considering the shrinkage of the wage budget and their subsequent increased importance, there is no excuse to not give them improved deals but it seems like its not being considered. Quote

His lack of effort and absolutely gash finishing at Bram Lane last season put me off him Waste if a shirt and a wage. Just did not care at all. 4 Quote

Perhaps like the poster from Legis said it would be good for him to have a couple if weeks rest and get adjusted to new surroundings and Ismael's master plan. Then get stuck in all fresh like. Quote

Scored ysday in a 4 nil win, only to decide to move to Poland? A bit random? Bear also in mind that he is Senegalese, so no language barrier in France etc. I saw something earlier that suggested he is keen to try his hand in England. Â Quote

Those are only really David Goodwillie numbers when he signed for us at 22, having scored 17 in 38 the season before. Minutely worse actually. Is he really all that? Quote

ageoftherover Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Chaddys consistent inconsistency aside, I do agree its too early to say whether VI will be a downgrade on Eustace. Eustace maybe has a few more runs on the board, but its not like VI has been a perennial failure and there's something to be said for having a manager who can function in a strange, chaotic environment. Eustace clearly couldn't and while you can argue our managers shouldn't have to, at this point its as useful as yelling at a wall. If VI is able to better manage the cretins higher up then well probably see benefits flow through to the pitch. 8 Quote

philipl Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Random musings. We can blow Wodz out of the water in transfer dealings even under Pasha restrictions if we want to. Buckingham is the Saudi Manager, Buckley is that rarely, a Rovers player under contract, so some sort of transfer fee is possible. Henriksson collected yellow cards at his former club for fun with the odd red for a bit of variety .It worried me how he disappeared from the game at WBA after the ref had a word about his persistent fouling. Seems a bit uncoordinated physically from the evidence to date. I wouldn't bet against us screwing outgoings as badly as incomings with Buckley, Travis, Pears and Leonard Rovers players this time next week. I find it amusing to see the same people rightly decrying January slumps and extremely weak Rovers benches currently saying we have too many CMs etc. I like the idea we potentially have extreme competition for places. 3 Quote

yankfan Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Will be interesting to see if we get any premier league kids on loan. When was the last season we weren’t starting and relying on them in the first XI Quote

A striker and a centre half would make sense though if there's anyone decent knocking about. Quote

callumrovers Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Have we still got a ESC space left? Afimico Pululu is a name that keeps cropping up.  Club is looking to sell as he won’t sign a new deal - wouldn’t cost 5 million either 😆 1 Quote

Reckon its at 21 for now, plus 3 youth in Michalski, Tyjon and Montgomery. More importantly perhaps all 4 ESC slots are used.  1 - Toth (ESC) Youth - Michalski 2 - Alebiosu 3 - Miller Youth - Montgomery 4 - Hyam 5 - Wharton 6 - Carter 7 - McLoughlan 8 - Ribeiro 9 - Pickering 10 - Tronstad (for now, I think we may be looking to offload if they want another CM) 11 - Tavares 12 - Baradji (ESC) 13 - Forshaw 14 - Henriksson (ESC) 15 - Cantwell Youth - Tyjon 16 - Hedges 17 - Kargbo (ESC) 18 - De Neve 19 - Morishita 20 - Ohashi 21 - Gueye  Not going to include Buckley, Pears or Leonard since they seem the most likely to leave. Leaves space for a back-up goalie hopefully, another striker and a couple more if they really want. (Happy to amend if any info is not correct)  Edit 1* - Garrett, Barrett and Pratt would need registered if they are to be part of first team; hopefully not.. Edited 1 hour ago by DutchRover 2 Quote
