wilsdenrover Posted August 5 Posted August 5 We registered 23 players at the start of last season. 12 of those remain at the club. That sort of turnover cannot be healthy (with the exception of agents’ bank accounts) 9 Quote

Same applies, how on earth can you label someone a downgrade without even seeing them play? I like Callum Brittain and wish he would have stayed, but let's not make out he is defensively flawless! He was made to look suspect many times last season, in his best season for us. Miller is clearly a different player reading what he's said and others who have seen him have said. Until proven otherwise he's a replacement in my mind for now, rather than an automatic downgrade. 7 Quote

Here’s the link as requested (it is the GBE rules in their entirety): https://www.thefa.com/-/media/files/thefaportal/governance-docs/registrations/gbe-2025-26/fa-mens-players-gbe-criteria-202526.ashx It says within 12 months from the date the player is granted a GBE. Depending on which ISP they sign up to it’s either renewed every 12 months or 3 years. I’d wager we obtain GBE on the short term ISP. Which means the period referred to in 7.5 is reset on a cyclical basis Found that on page 9, item 7 Edited August 5 by Dreams of 1995 Quote

I agree in that you can see Miller is a direct replacement for Brittain and we just don’t know how good he will prove to be.  If all deals were like this I’d be quite happy. Whereas McLaughlin has been playing at this level long enough for me to suspect he will be a downgrade on Batth. Dolan has yet hasn’t been replaced, and generally we don’t appear to have strengthened in any area.  1 Quote
callumrovers Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Anyone heard the mystery winger could be Omari Forson? English, decided to join serie A team Monza after his Manchester United contract expired - they have just been relegated. 9 appearances last season all of the bench. 1 Quote

That would mean him having the right to be and work in the country for one year but being contractually tied to us for a further two. I also doubt the Home Office would grant a one year visa to someone with a three year work contract.   Edited August 5 by wilsdenrover Quote

DutchRover Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I am convinced we have to move players before we sign. Buckley, Pears, Travis and Mafoumbi (for ESC) are probably all gone before end of window, which would let us get Henriksson, Winger, Baradji? And another perhaps. 2 Quote

Likewise yes as it stands we will miss Dolan, from someone who wasn't his biggest fan.... 1 Quote

Good owners whos profile kick started rhe snowball effect for sure but also smart enough to realise you speculate to accumulate, have ambition and tapped into the fanbase and history and sponsors jump onboard, as well as outside investment. Its almost like saying, there is nothing we can do, FFP, our hands are tied, shit fans, our aim is to stay up and build indefinitely for something indeterminate, doesn't pay off as a strategy... 3 Quote
