Angry_Pirate Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Least we don't need to worry about relegation... it's a foregone conclusion after this past 2 months. 5 Quote

davulsukur Posted September 1 Posted September 1 And we're done. The absolute blatant downgrading of the squad is complete. How they had the brass neck to do it, I'll never know. Can only assume Gestede, Pasha and Owen are toasting a fine summer window. ✅️ Shipped out some high earners ✅️ No contact renewals (so no payrises) ✅️ Replaced all out goings with lower earners ✅️ Made a profit in the window 7 Quote

bluebruce Posted September 1 Posted September 1 (edited) 4 minutes ago, pick32 said: Worse than any transfer window Waggot had Until today, I viewed it as a 'jury is out' window. Too many unknowns from entirely different leagues. A very risky dismantling of experience within the squad, and a lot of turnover which would inevitably harm cohesion, but if the players were good enough and we didn't suffer too many losses until January, it could have been a reasonable transition to maybe theoretically kick on for next season (lets face it, who realistically expected us to challenge for playoffs again anyway?). But today has made it a shocker of a window. We were arguably already short at CB given the injury proneness of Carter and Wharton, and now we are a gnat's pube away from disaster at CB. Insane own goal for the sake of probably about 2 million (I bet the 0.7 is add ons, maybe even more of it than that). Could cost our league status. Edited September 1 by bluebruce 9 Quote

ROVER_N_OUT1978 Posted September 1 Posted September 1 No one can defend that decision surely. Absolute utter madness to sell an ever present in such a vital position with no replacement. Talk about self destruction. It's actually depressing being a Rovers fan 4 Quote

Madness I understand its crazy to accept a bid on one of our few experienced players..but the money Wrexham and Birmingham are throwing around is crazy stuff. How much have they spent this window...£35m? Bet hes doubled his wages if not more. Never thought I'd say Wrexham are spending way beyond what we could ever have done in the championship. Quote
Mercer Posted September 1 Posted September 1 A disastrous window. We really are in trouble. Will Ismael put up with this? Will Pasha make Gestede the scapegoat when we are rooted in the bottom three? 'Exciting' times ahead. 7 Quote

RTM08 Posted September 1 Posted September 1 In my eyes we've gone from "battling relegation and likely to go down" to "we'll be lucky to match Rotherham's worst total" with this squad. We were in a position where we may be able to nick some points here and there on the back of the defence. We're now going to get some serious pastings I expect. 3 Quote
Exiled in Toronto Mk2 Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Leaving aside everything we know of the last 15 years, the absence of any interest/desire of the owners, the revolving door of nonentities in the C-suite, the parade of managers, the most notable feature of the window for me is the number of established players who wanted to go elsewhere. The Lemon Drizzle club atmosphere is now clearly a thing of the past (it’s demise being initiated by a demanding JDT) I am perhaps in a small minority in not seeing the loss of Dom Fucking Hyam as a catastrophe (or at least as a bigger one than anything that preceded it). The Preston og, the shrinking violet needing his dad alongside him, the Turf Moor 0-3 pussy, the “calm down”. I’ll not miss him no matter who has to fill in for him. 2 Quote

Venkys have killed my interest in rovers for good I have the same feelings. Rovers supporter for over 30 odd years and this lot running the show have sapped the last of my enthusiasm this summer. I understand we should be getting behind these new signings, but losing Brittain, Batth, Dolan, Trav and now Hyam is too bad. Most other clubs in this division would have tied them up to longer contracts and strengthened to compete. We are League One next season without question. We haven’t got a good enough squad. Players will be played out of position and as we saw when he arrived, when the going gets tough, Ismael hasn’t a clue. I imagine that purple patch towards the end of last season was the players putting themselves in the shop window. Our demise this season will be tragically embarrassing.
