3 relegated teams will be very strong next season, then add in Birmingham and Wrexham who will be much better than usual L1 teams and then 2 or 3 of Sunderland, Sheffield United and Coventry.

I’d be amazed if we even get a sniff of the top 6 in the next few years with the owners, board and manager that we have.

Post of the day.

If we cant win a game against a 2nd rate Shef Utd team, we have nothing to look forward to in the Playoffs

A second rate Sheffield United team on 92 points?

They still are teams like Baggies, Boro, Norwich who will be the usual playoff contenders. Not forgetting John Eustace's revamped Derby.

Fearing for next season if we dont properly invest in the team.

Funny how Dennis, on paper, was probably our most exciting attacker we've signed in a while, yet he's literally offered nothing.

Kargbo still raw so not going to give him much slack, he's a useful player and perhaps not the game for him when he came on.

Really happy for Toth, happy we will start next season with a decent keeper.

Our Back line has battled well all season, our down fall has been uptop - Not enough quality on the final third

Dennis hadn't played in ages, I didn't expect much from him.

If only Eustace had stuck with Toth instead of Pears.

As for upfront, it won't be addressed. The last time they spent money on a striker was 6 years ago. Gueye and Dolan will be their way.

We finished 7th on goal difference two seasons ago.

69 points two seasons ago, and the same the season before that. This season that would have made the play offs.

It wasn't to be. But hats off to the players for a great effort this season. We'd have snapped their hands off for 7th at start of season when everyone had us down as relegation candidates.

Exactly this.

Reality isn't easy to accept, but it's a fantastic achievement over the course of 46 season games and will all things considered.

It was all said last year, we were meant to be going down this season apparently.

They absolutely don't invest properly, but we paid money for two strikers this summer. Just mentioning in the interest of keeping things accurate.

We didn’t miss out on playoffs because of the draw today. We missed out because our owners ran off our manager in February and we subsequently went on to only pick up 4 points from the next 24 possible. The owners are 💯 to blame. Eustace knew the “substantial investment” wasn’t anywhere near enough and it proved true today after the fire power of Forshaw, Kargbo, Woodrow, and Dennis came on for the final push.

Those two points we were cheated out of at Turf Moor would have seen us in the play offs.

At least there was some justice with them not winning the league.

i expect birmingham and ipswich to be the teams threatening next season, soton and leicester with massive rebuilding jobs to do that might take a season to complete, otherwise its pretty much the same as this season for play off contention,i hope pne get relegated

Two unknowns on the cheap.

That's our main downfall on the pitch. We didnt create enough and we weren't clinical when we had the chances. Sammi was too much for us to replace.

Especially when you don't spend brass on proven strikers!

It was absolute madness to take off all of Cantwell, Dolan, Hedges, Travis and Tronstad. You can't take off our 5 best players in the biggest game of our season, especially when you replace them with a bunch of journeymen who have barely played all season.

Unfortunately after redeeming himself in the last 4 games, Ismael panicked at the end there and made too many changes to try and nick it.

Credit to the lads though, it was still a fantastic season but once again we miss out by the smallest of margins. Sheffield looked superior to us in every way, and it's unlikely we would have been able to beat them another 2 times if we reached the playoffs anyway.

No idea how you think the final push can include Forshaw over Trondstad.  Forshaw can’t run and has scored 1 in 4 years.

Agree but then so do they.

As publically announced, after June 30th we will have a clear out, promote from the academy and start an exciting 3 year project to hopefully challenge again in 3 years.

I am proud of this club. A month ago, we had nothing to play for. The lads never quit, gave 100%, and gave us an exciting finish.

Thank you, Blackburn Rovers, & Ismail, you never quit!

Ismael? If only we'dve beaten the poor teams under him.

That run has killed us too.

What a massive chance thrown away...inconceivably losing five games on the bounce against shit Teams sealed our fate.

Controversial comment:

The Players are as much to blame here, they took their Bat and Ball home after Eustace shot out the door... did they have no belief in themselves, did they not care about the Supporters?

A bitter, bitter Pill to swallow for me and that's speaking from the Heart.

God only know's what next Season holds.

Seeing those 3 January signings lollop round the pitch for the last 10/15mins just summed up the failure.

Had a look and the 3 'Championship' teams in the top 6, Coventry, Sunderland & Bristol City - Transfer Markt has them spending 17M, 12M & 10M this season.

It has us spending 5M.

That's the difference. You simply can't compete for the Top 6 in this league without spending some money.

And that won't change,  it will get worse.

This sort of thing gets said every single summer.

There are always 3 relegated teams expected to be strong in this league. Frequently at least one of them is shit. Looking at the Prem table, they've all struggled more than is usually the case. We're ignoring that 2 or 3 strong teams will be going up, too.

I'm amazed we have had a sniff of the top 6 in so many of the recent seasons with the owners and board we've had. I do tend to think it can't last forever without proper investment though.
