Players we must get shut of for me would be Dennis, Woodrow, Hedges,  Forshaw, ACB, Weimann and Vale.

I'd keep Sanderson. Hope Dolan stays but I don't think he will.

Keep JRC, Buckley and Leonard. I'd also keep and have a look at Markanday and Garrett. Don't want to lose any more from the rest.

Markanday and Garrett aren't Championship level players, and there has to be a question mark over Leonard too. At 21 he needs to start delivering

I like JRC but his best football was a brief spell under Tomasson and he's never pinned down a defined role.

Agree keep Buckley and Sanderson and jettison Woodrow, Forshaw, Hedges, Vale and possibly Weimann though he scores goals and has much to offer even though he's ageing. I'd also listed to offers for Gueye.

Dennis has talent. I'd sit down and tell him he's in last chance saloon with us and some home truths about his attitude and what he wants to do with his career.

According to the Transfermarket website Dennis' contract at Nottingham Forest still has a year to run so it looks doubtful he will be with us.

You’d imagine he’d be surplus to requirements at Birmingham, they’ll be eyeing back to back promotions a la Ipswich.

But two years left on his deal.

He's not going to get a game at Forest. We've given him a chance to save his career. He has ability - I'd look to keep him but with the proviso he gets his head down and starts working

I wouldnt touch Dennis with a bargepole.

Sanderson is a likeable sort but looks fairly ordinary to me at the end of the day. We need better but I suppose you could say that about nearly every area of the pitch.

He is on somewhere between £80K & £120K per week, not a chance on earth we sign him permanently

He will end up in Saudi or similar

Journeyman that’s spent his career in Ukraine, Belgium, Watford, Forest and a few loans and he’s on that kind of money.

What a time to be a pro footballer (the likes of Simon Garner must want to weep).

A big difference during our stronger spells this season has been having depth on the bench. When you compare the start of this season to the end of the 23/24 season when our bench was basically Markanday + academy players, it was night and day. Sanderson is the sort of player I'd like to see signed as he's a good option to have from the bench/as cover.

I thought Sanderson was on loan from big club ? If so I expect him to be going back. I like the lad and I wouldn’t be averse to signing him.

Not sure we sign Sanderson unless we lose at least 2 of our current senior centre backs. (which is possible)

Gestede already on record (I know) as saying we want a left footed centre back to compete/cover for Wharton, which would leave us with 5 (Batth, Carter & Hyam being the others).  And that is before we even factor in the return to the academy kids model and fitting in Atcheson & Litherland

I could certainly see a world where we sell Carter & Hyam to pay the bills & Birmingham give Sanderson a free/low fee move to get him off the wage bill

Only question for me would be how far away the crop of Academy CBs are - I gather we have a few quite good ones.

I wouldn't want to block their path by signing Sanderson. If they're years away then fair enough, he's a good squad player.

Not sure if this has been said on here but what sort of idiot throws a smoke bomb onto the pitch in the direction of the players?

Has to be one of the stupidest things i've ever seen....didn't look like it missed the players by much to me from where i was sat

I'm not sure that's correct. When this story was flying around at the time I think somebody came on here and said that players pay in to an insurance policy which pays for their first six months if they are injured and out of contract. The club did let Gladwin use their facilities whilst he was recovering but that won't have cost anything.

Im fairly sure "Good old Uncle Tone" went well beyond that and gave him another deal of some sort.

Maybe someone will be able to confirm.

Sanderson is a very “blood and thunder” type of player, but I’m not sure how good a defender he actually is. He did a job to cover injuries when we brought him in, but he’d be a 4th / 5th choice option for me, so I’d only bring in if it’s dirt cheap and we don’t fancy our academy lads as squad cover.

(As per @Exiled_Rover post above which I’ve just read !)

I wouldn't go near Dennis the red flags were there long before these lot decided to throw away at least half a million on borrowing him.

The idea is for another season-long loan at Rovers to sort himself out. Why would a “journeyman” (according to the experts) get a contract in Saudi?

a man holding a glass of whiskey with the words not a great plan below him

He is in my opinion a disinterested show pony, an expensive one at that, who has now hardly played in over a year, and seems to get injured on the rare occasions that he does.

As for getting a contract in Saudi, not all of their players are Ronaldo etc.  Plenty of foreign also rans currently make up the numbers, he would fit right in

He is a journeyman by any definition of said football parlance (27 and he’s been at 8 clubs).

Though if being able to read Wikipedia makes me an ‘expert’, then I’ll take it  👌

A decent season in the Premier League and a few caps for Nigeria would probably be enough for that lot.

He’s been a massive disappointment. He looked to be a player at Forest but he hasn’t looked interested in his time here. He could have won it for us at the death but he totally blew one really good chance and another half chance.

It's quite satisfying really as Nixon was really crowing about this coup on Twitter when he was in full Waggott brown-nosing mode.

Dennis has been a disaster of a signing and I'm glad he'll never darken our door again
