SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted yesterday at 12:29 Posted yesterday at 12:29 (edited) Are the Club aiming for Promotion or the Playoffs, what are the demands/expectations of our so-called Owners..is there anyone interested in Pune Towers?. Are you as a Fan just happy to see Rovers just make up the numbers, just happy not to be a Bury as the Project (fill your Bank Account) bumbles on into our 150th year?. Are we set for another season of being the nearly men or will we struggle after another Manager is possibly shat on when support is needed? One thing I do know is that without clear targets to achieve success from those deadheads in charge we will continue to float aimlessly. My view? Hope I'm wrong but...... Backroom DE. Posted yesterday at 13:05 Backroom Posted yesterday at 13:05 (edited) Same as usual, top half or mid table. There will be teams worse run and worse assembled than us, as there has been the vast majority of our seasons at this level, and we still have enough in the first eleven to get enough points to be comfortable. With that said, if we sell a lot of the players whose contracts are due to run out in 2027 and our replacement strategy is frees, cheapos, loans and youth players then we could be in for a rough time. sharpysharps86 Posted yesterday at 13:10 Posted yesterday at 13:10 My expectations largely hinge on recruitment, and I don't trust the club to improve the squad based on what they did in January, and I definitely don't trust Rudy Gestede to bring the right players....so naturally I expect a regression and meandering around the bottom half, which can easily slip into a relegation fight if you're not careful. Not helped by the fact that Birmingham and Wrexham will probably go for it a lot more than Derby, Oxford and Portsmouth did. Ismael has at least shown he is capable of getting results after the nightmare start, so it'll be on the recruitment team to get it right. 5 Quote
WacoRover Posted yesterday at 13:24 Posted yesterday at 13:24 My expectations are to improve on this seasons strong finish- so, 5th or 6th, & a chance at promotion. Reality, and the last 15 years, says hope for 10th, but don’t be surprised at a lower half finish. If we can re-sign Weimann, Dolan & Batth, I’d feel much better. Weimann can score, & Batth was very consistent in defence. Quote
KentExile Posted yesterday at 13:31 Posted yesterday at 13:31 (edited) Initial overachievement followed by the now annual "Christmas gift" from those in power at the club of being screwed over in the January transfer window Edited yesterday at 13:32 by KentExile Quote

MarkBRFC Posted yesterday at 14:42 Posted yesterday at 14:42 The worry for me comes when we inevitably start a season badly, because you know it isn't going to improve after Christmas. I think that could be next season. 2 Quote
Mattyblue Posted yesterday at 14:47 Posted yesterday at 14:47 Think a few folk forget how crap this league is when predicting the next campaign. Outside the parachutes there’s bugger all in it player wise, it largely comes down to managers, if Val isn’t a dud I don’t see why we should expect a relegation scrap. 1 Quote
rigger Posted yesterday at 14:48 Posted yesterday at 14:48 (edited) Another top-half finish. No season ticket. Edited yesterday at 14:50 by rigger Quote

It would really take something special to get relegated with some of the teams that often float towards the bottom and I dont think people factor that in as much as they should. You think of us last season, PNE this season and Stoke on a number of occasions. An absolute mess yet manage to avoid relegation. 1 Quote
Hasta Posted yesterday at 18:20 Posted yesterday at 18:20 Baath and Weimann being replaced with kids or cheapies. Not beating any of the promoted sides away. Making a mess of Preston away. Quote
JCRovers Posted yesterday at 18:21 Posted yesterday at 18:21 Fear a relegation battle to be honest. Ipswich, Southampton and Leicester coming down plus money-spending newcomers in Birmingham and Wrexham means that the league will likely become tougher next season. If we don't start well and have a fifteen or twenty point cushion away from relegation spots heading into January, then we're in trouble. We all saw the collapse at the turn of the year with a fragile squad once key players got injured due to the intense match schedule. In addition, if we can't get Travis, Tronstad and Brittain to sign new contracts or replace them properly if they're sold, then we're pretty much doomed for season 26/27 anyway. So yeah, my expectations aren't particularly high given how the owners and board have treated the club for the past fifteen years. 1 Quote

Wegerleswiggle Posted yesterday at 18:40 Posted yesterday at 18:40 Anywhere between 5th and 14th. Championship is way too unpredictable Quote
roversfan99 Posted yesterday at 18:41 Posted yesterday at 18:41 It has become predictable enough to rule out 5th and 6th under these owners. Quote
