I always had it in my head that it was on the corner opposite the old Apollo cinema/Town hall, just down from the museum. As I posted earlier, I understand it to be where the Nat West Bank is now Quote

Edit - seems to be called New Market Street Edited July 4 by JHRover Quote

rog of the rovers Posted July 4 Posted July 4 A map of Blackburn town centre from 1910 showing three PH (public houses) on the corners of King William Street and Lord Street. One of these had to be the St Leger Hotel, presumably the one to the left of where it says 373 (where Derian House charity shop is) 2 Quote
GHR Posted July 4 Posted July 4 (edited) King William Street in the era of the St. Leger was continuous with Darwen Street - i.e. ploughing straight through what in recent years was Debenhams. As such, judging by the caption from the CottonTown picture, the Prince of Wales is roughly where the ramp goes up to the Mall from the bus stop on Astley Gate and St. Leger was directly opposite the Derian House charity shop, diagonally opposite from Greggs. GHR Posted July 4 Posted July 4 (edited) Got it - @rog of the rovers is spot on. https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/side-by-side/#zoom=18.0&lat=53.74828&lon=-2.48457&layers=117746211a&right=ESRIWorld A side by side of the era, clearly marking the St. Leger Hotel where the Derian House shop now stands. (I accept no responsibility for hours lost on the website linked - lots of layers available for years gone by in the filters.) Edited July 4 by GHR 3 Quote

superniko Posted July 4 Posted July 4 I actually think this could be a beauty - I hope they don’t mess it up. The bee crest with gold trim on the kit. I still would have preferred our season home kit to be the anniversary kit - but I guess it’s all about making money now and selling multiple kits Quote
JHRover Posted July 4 Posted July 4 Well it seems like there could be four kits. The main three and then a special one for the anniversary. If they are going with the coat of arms badge on the third kit then I'd expect they try different badges on the away kit and anniversary kit. I don't buy the shirts and haven't done for years but this is going to be one hell of an expensive season for those who buy the full set! Quote
Feed the Yak Posted July 4 Posted July 4 No change to the badge, halves in tones of green. Decent Plymouth shirt. Quote
rog of the rovers Posted July 4 Posted July 4 I like it, wish they'd used the town crest though. 1 Quote
Riverside under the drip Posted July 4 Posted July 4 That's just a Plymouth shirt. If there's a link to the town, I fail to see it. 2 down, no purchases for me yet... Quote
Backroom Tom Posted July 4 Backroom Posted July 4 Decent, like others said it’s a nice Plymouth shirt Quote

JHRover Posted July 4 Posted July 4 Based on the coat of arms of the town... I suppose it would have been just too much effort to actually use the coat of arms of the town then and actually have a unique kit for the 150th. Instead we've got the monochrome standard crest which is just cutting corners and costs as that is easier to manufacture than the standard version. There's nothing about that kit that in any way, shape or form suggests a link to the clubs history or origins. The only link, as I can see, is the green colour which happens to feature on the town coat of arms. 4 Quote
sharpysharps86 Posted July 4 Posted July 4 It's alright, smart enough. Third shirt is an opportunity for a variation on the badge, so it's a shame they've not done that. Would've been nice if the two tones of green were a bit more contrasting so the halves stand out more...but that might just be the lighting in the photos. Quote
