Mattyblue Posted July 9 Posted July 9 (edited) Indeed they do (and further afield than that), yet the club seems to think their engagement (if you can even call it that) has to stop outside the arbitrarily drawn 1970s BwD borders… yet one look at their own database will surely tell them that the majority of the fanbase is now outside the town. Tomphil2 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 There is no way they'll engage more of the Asian community adults to attend increasing match day prices the way they have yet that is supposed to be the number 1 aim. Clueless. 1 Quote

Clueless. The sizeable Asian community make only a fraction of Matchday attendees, there is little to no interest in Rovers. If by some miracle we ever make the top flight again in our lifetimes they will be queueing up...to see the likes of Utd and Liverpool. Edited July 9 by SIMON GARNERS 194 3 Quote

MarkBRFC Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Be surprised if Ohashi and Toth don't play some part, they have had a good two weeks training now. Quote

The ones that are interested especially the youngsters will not attend or not be able to attend unless it's cheap. The Ewood express is great in giving them a chance but realistically how many will return brought by their parents at those matchday prices when the adult has to pay ? Statistically some of the most deprived areas in England are within Blackburn town boundaries, across both communities. Something those running the club seems completely detached from and it's another reason of many the local support is dwindling. Edited July 9 by Tomphil2 5 Quote

You need to nurture that live of the game. Even if it’s only coats down on the local rec. I only started going to Ewood regularly after I started playing schoolboy football. I live facing a very large common. On the other side of the common most people are of Asian heritage. Usually the kids playing on the common are from an Asian background and previously they were only playing cricket. However this year, for the first time, none of the kids are playing cricket. They’re all out playing coats down football every night. There are even some girls kicking a ball around. I don’t see the next Mohammed Salah out there but things are changing. 3 Quote

WacoRover Posted Friday at 15:50 Posted Friday at 15:50 I will be interested to see the part our three newest additions play, if any. We needed backs; I hope our people found a couple good ones. Quote
JHRover Posted Friday at 18:02 Posted Friday at 18:02 Will be interesting to see how many 'knocks' and 'illnesses' have been picked up Quote

StaffordRover Posted Saturday at 11:26 Posted Saturday at 11:26 (edited) Any chance of A. Trialist being on the team sheet today for us? Thinking specifically of those out of contract players looking to earn a new contract elsewhere. Plenty available with decent pedigrees or are those now days long gone? RevidgeBlue Posted Saturday at 11:34 Posted Saturday at 11:34 Going to be as hot as I can ever remember it for a game today boys and girls. Factor 50 on! I'm sure the hospitality off the pitch today will be somewhat better than the fare on it. Enjoy. Quote

I've taught in a Blackburn primary school for about 20 years now. It is and predominantly has been, 99% Asian heritage. When I first started, Rovers were in the Prem. At that time I'd say around 25 percent of the lads were Rovers fans (Wore tops and several regularly attended games). Now there are none at all. It's all Liverpool, City, Man U. They occasionally go to the free games but they don't come away Rovers fans. Only way that changes is getting back into the Prem. 2 Quote
