I know it wouldn't happen, but would you go back and start the majority of last seasons players (though thin and lacking in positives)

I would say , they have far more positives than the signings we have made .Except Tavares .

On Saturday and again last night we started really slowly. I don't know if it's a mindset but it's going to cost us dearly if we don't correct it. We have been outdone by the tempo management of both West Brom and Bradford.

Having seen Birmingham on Friday their main asset was the intensity in which they played. If we don't at the very least match that from the first whistle it will be a long afternoon.

Jay stansfield will run our defenders ragged.  Watching him at the euros he never gives defenders a minutes peace. I can see him scoring a hatrick. Rovers 0 brum 4

BCFC fan coming in peace. What is actually going on at Blackburn right now? Seems like total meltdown. I wasn't paying much attention last year but everything was going quite well? What has changed?

Big turnaround in the squad where we have replaced seasoned Championship players with unknowns. Was run ragged against in our last pre-season against NEC Nijmegen. Played under par against WBA and lost against league two opposition yesterday.

Also lots of rumors and talk about what's going on behind the scene and our captain has publicly stated that he wants out.

Nothing was really going well. Just on the surface it looked that way. Eustace walked because he'd had enough. There was no building on our good start in the January window.  Ismeal came in, underwhelming appointment to say the least.  He undid all Eustace's good work but then we went on a good run when it was probably too late.  We haven't invested adequately this summer.  We have poisonous people higher up always trying to undo the good work managers do

Sell your best players. Re-invest the bare minimum in cheap Euro fodder.

Eustace surprisingly had us solid and over-performing last year until injuries hit and the squad depth was shown up. Despite being in the top 5 we refused to invest anything proper in January (although the club said investment was 'significant') which saw us fall away. We also refused to discuss contracts all year with key players whose current deals were expiring in July 2026. Frustrated, and recognising it could only go one way, Eustace walked.

Ismael came in. We plummeted, then rallied. Now we are selling the players who only have 1 year left and re-investing in more cheap Euro-fodder, so the squad is weaker again. A major struggle looks to be on the cards.

Add in owners that now only send the bare minimum to keep us afloat (possibly due to an ongoing Indian court case which is clear as mud), everyone can clearly see we are running out of golden geese to sell, so where do we go from here? Even if we stop up, when the remaining out of contract players walk next summer and the taps remain turned off, it will be a grim situation - at the very least on the pitch. It's like we are now hitting a new period in Venky-run decline and it's happening in slow motion.

Due to ownership finance issues the desperate need to flog players to pay the bills and replace with cheaper wage ones has grown year on year.

You'll be familiar with such issues and meltdowns i'm sure but yours were always well documented but ours have been creeping up slowly but surely over the past 3 or 4 years yet nobody outside out modest sized fanbase will be very aware of it.

Our league finishes a few times over the past 4 years have belied the situation but the chickens are firmly on their way home to roost now.

I thought he was deeply average in the Euros to be honest. Along with several other highly touted names, McAtee, Hackney, Scott etc.  I was expecting much more. He lacks the real pace to trouble the better teams. That doesn’t mean to say he won’t trouble us.

Probably similar in some ways to when you had dodgy Chinese owners. Things being run down to the ground, no ideas or ambition and the feeling relegation is inevitable.

I can see him being a real problem but his shoot on sight is very erratic, they need to nullify his supply line but there's be no Travis to protect the back 4 now 🤨

Suspect this will be a very brutal and humiliating afternoon for anyone connected with Blackburn Rovers. Apart from the management of course.

Have we told them we'll change kit so that they can play in the kit of their choice yet?

All correct except this part - he hasn't publicly stated anything of the sort - our manager has publicly stated this is what he wants.

There's potentially a big difference - I personally don't believe anything the hierarchy at Rovers have to say and Ismael will be getting his information and instructions from them.

Me too but he's got that Jamie vardy workrate.  He'll hassle our defenders to making mistakes.  Which the more talented players around him will take advantage of

He'll rattle our defenders
