As for the game, a front 4 of Kyogo, Stansfield, Gray and Anderson terrifies me

If they just ran out those 4, they might beat us.

Of the many thrills of being a football fan. Waking up for the first home league game of the season is one of them… if you don’t get that thrill, why you still bothering?

(And that’s the question I’m asking myself for the first time in my life this morning).

I dunno I do still get the buzz but I let the disappointment wait until im sat in a plastic blue seat.

he can`t be injured seeing as he did 90 minutes last saturday and did`nt play on tuesday, more than likely he`s off and is`nt willing to risk playing tommorow,**** me are we going to sign a replacement,we`re awfuly short at the back if he goes

He could have got injured in training, or whilst doing the washing up 😉

But yes, if he is missing, odds are it is because he is off (or threw a wobbly due to the ridiculous contract offer that was made to him)

On a sadder note, Paul Round has passed RIP

Did Paul Round not pass some 6 months ago?

Don't worry about anyone going.

Jackson said there club have extensive lists for replacement players should any of the "1 year contract" players leave.

I'm sure the lists will be of excellent, championship level quality.

Excitement for this one is at a low. Think we will likely set up not to get beat and be very defensive and create nothing going forward and play the game like we’re playing them away

Predicting a 2-0 win for Brum, a half effort performance from Tronstad, Tavares to get an early yellow and be dulled, Kargbo and Gueye introduced at 60mins, then a selection of kids at 80mins - snooze fest

There's no way Hedges doesn't play.

We might as well plant hedges down the side of the pitch, as field this fella in his present low impact incarnation. Not sure why VI doesn't clock how ineffective and therefore damaging to our prospects it is to insist on playing individuals whose contribution is nothing other than to frustrate and undermine our attacking capability. If anyone was to be let go from the current squad, it should be the Welsh wunderboy, Hyam Wedges.

Anyway, back to the game. Brum likely to be fired up in front of their maurauding hordes and benefitting from the momentum of a record-breaking promotion from the porridge for breakfast league. The nasal sound of 7.5K brummie drongoes shouting, "Coom on yow Blues' (how ironic at Ewood!) echoing deeply around the sparsely populated and relatively empty concourses on three of four sides of the ground... chastening stuff!

Broomay Drongoes on fire - Rovers 0 Burmingerum 4

Rovers somehow stem the tide in a hapless borefest - Rovers 0 Drongoes 0

Well there's a surprise - Rovers 3 Nasal Twats sent packing 0

My money isn't on the need for tampons up the nose, by the way.

However, COYB!

Fingers crossed by the final whistle you’ll know the answer.

There should be a buzz we finished 7th last season so it's exciting to see if we can better that...

'Will Dolan have one if his unplayable early season good days'

'Will Trav have his usual first home day barnstormer, will he avoid a yellow'

'Is Batth still the rock he was last season'

'Brittain and his overlaps could be key today'

'Wonder if this new investment striker will get off the mark ?, if not there's always Weimann to come on'

Can't wait........ oh hang on.... er well i wonder if these new multi nation lightweights will have enough about them to stop us getting pounded... !

When you put it so succinctly like that, it is hard to see anything except an embarrassing and damaging reverse for Rovers here, simply because what you have identified is the heart (or is it the 'backbone'?) of a functioning and competitive side that has been wilfully ripped out.  So far, the evidence appears to be that this has been replaced with nothing of any real substance.

There will be match-day excitement indeed, although perhaps not the kind that we, as long suffering fans either wish for or deserve.

VENKYS OUT!

As much as I don’t want this to be the case….

I think we’ll be 2-0 down inside the first ten minutes, the players will be serenaded with a chorus of boos, we’ll rally for a bit and make it look like we’re trying, without having all that much intent.

We’ll bag in the last ten minutes to give us some hope, then pass it around aimlessly, get caught in possession, then Brum will score on the counter and ruin our day.

Being at least a goal down in the first 10 is standard practice under Ismael. 2 isn't uncommon either.

Sticking with 0-4.

We look so blunt in attack that I'll be impressed if we manage to get a shot on target never mind score a goal. I suspect Miller's long throw will be our main goal threat.

Sounds highly plausible. Except for perhaps the us scoring part, and the part where we hold out on conceding another for about 80 minutes.

Christ, we're gonna get bummed by Brum aren't we? At home. A freshly promoted club who think they're much bigger than they are, but admittedly have owners with a drive, vision and investment and as such are one of the favourites for promotion.
