Excitement for this one is at a low. Think we will likely set up not to get beat and be very defensive and create nothing going forward and play the game like we’re playing them away

Predicting a 2-0 win for Brum, a half effort performance from Tronstad, Tavares to get an early yellow and be dulled, Kargbo and Gueye introduced at 60mins, then a selection of kids at 80mins - snooze fest

toth

Pickering miller mcloughlin Ribiero

Tavares Tronstad

alebiosu cantwell de neve

ohashi

We’ll look back in a few years at that team and think “oh my God. How poor was that team”.

I don't, and truth be told I'm not sure anyone at the club does either.

One thing I do know is Cantwell has never grabbed anything by the scuff of it's neck

Like the team in 2016/17 season, and that one looks better than the one we currently have.

We had the likes of Raya, Lenihan, Mulgrew, Conway and Graham back then.

I think that's genuinely our best option at the moment. Keep it tight at the back with 5 but with legs out wide that can hopefully push us up the pitch quickly on the break.

Absolutely pointless playing attacking wingers when we don't have any. Two up front to give the CBs something to think about for a change.

Middle of the pitch (Tronstad, Tavares, Cantwell) looks like our strongest area - at least on paper - so set the team up around them and hope we can play it about a bit.

Keeping Coyle till February is what did us, it wasn’t *that* bad a side, TM showed that. This time, it is looking like an increasingly poor team as more and more of the experienced pros feck off… and the VI factor (who I’m dubious of to say the least).

All those would get into today’s team, no problem.

Yep, the 16/17 team under any remotely decent manager would have stayed up. Even being saddled with Coyle until Feb we still only went down on GD and what I think was a record number of points for relegation? Close to, if not.

  • Raya - Future top 4 premier league goalie
  • Lenihan - Young albeit injury prone promising centre half
  • Mulgrew - Set piece specialist and leader
  • Conway - Top tier championship winger
  • Graham - Proven centre forward at championship level

Only one we have that is remotely similar now is Carter for Lenihan. Scary how much better that group of players looks compared to what we have now.

Not yet.

He's more than capable. This needs to be his season otherwise we'll be watching the back of his head walk put the door too.

Was gonna go to todays game but person I was going with has ended up unexpectedly child free so we've opted to go see Supergrass in Halifax instead. Hope the boys get something out of todays game, Birmingham are gonna be towards top of table this season.

Meanwhile, Nyambe, Sanderson, Batth, etc, having a rough time vs Coventry.

Not sure I wouldn’t prefer at least two of the three in our starting 11 today. Definitely Weimann on the bench

We have to subtract some points for the central midfield options at the time of of Lowe, Evans, Guthrie & Akpan though

Id prefer Tronstad playing on his own vs all 4 of those 😉

According to the enigmatic BRFCPrivy Travis is refusing to play. Could be true, could be false, or it could be the club trying to put the blame on Travis

You'd have thought it would be the other way round and we wouldn't want to select him until his situation is resolved.

BRFCPivy is 100% a club person. Has probably been told to say that.

i would`nt believe anything that pops up on social media or indeed anything that comes out of the club officially, they could`nt lie straight tbh

Id like to see big Premier club managers do any better under the circumstances, there big because they've huge checkbooks.
