jph92 Posted Wednesday at 13:15 Posted Wednesday at 13:15 As the title says... where is David Lowe? He seemed to play a key role in Mowbray's backroom team, it looked like the players enjoyed working with him. It appears that under Eustace he was 'demoted' to be a glorified opposition analyst but was then trusted with the reins between him leaving and Ismael coming in. During those matches it actually looked like a weight had been lifted off the players and they were enjoying their football again. Ismael came in and he continued to be part of the coaching team. Fast forward to this season... In July - David Lowe isn't at pre season training and Ismael speaks to the Lancashire Telegraph saying that David Lowe will be moving on In the Fans Forum - Suhail doesn't seem to know that David Lowe hasn't been at work, or if he is still employed Even today - He is still listed on the Rovers club staff as First Team Coach I don't know how good of a coach he is. I don't know what he is like to work with. It just seems a bit strange that nobody is able to confirm if he is still employed or not. Will he turn up randomly at Ewood in a few weeks and start giving set piece instructions instead of Ben Benson? 2 Quote

JHRover Posted Wednesday at 14:28 Posted Wednesday at 14:28 A bit more to add I was told that he hadn't returned to Brockhall in June for pre-season training. I have no reason to question that information given he hasn't been seen on any of the videos/photos from pre-season training. Ismael confirmed after the Accy Stanley friendly that he was 'in the process of leaving' despite not being around since May Valerien Ismael on the future of Blackburn Rovers coach | Lancashire Telegraph The clear suggestion here is that he was being removed because Ismael had decided he didn't want him and that he wanted his own coaching staff. A pretty reasonable thing to want/expect for a new manager (shame Mowbray, JDT and Eustace didn't appear to get such luxuries) but despite that nobody else has been brought in, with Dean Whitehead the only coach brought in since Eustace's gang left, and Damien Johnson/Ben Benson seemingly remain cornerstones of the operation, now onto their 4th manager in just over 3 years. Even if correct I find it odd that the club can't just confirm his departure. It certainly isn't normal for a 2-3 month process of removing a coach surplus to requirements. Quote

Gardening leave is likely the obvious answer, paid to not be here, Schrodinger's coach 3 Quote

This does need clarifying. One poster on here suggested he'd had personal issues to deal with. Quote

roversfan99 Posted Wednesday at 22:27 Posted Wednesday at 22:27 It sums up our club that our own COO has no idea whether a long standing member of staff still works here. Amateur is being generous. 2 Quote

I would describe them as corporate. 2 Quote

Ossydave Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I think the question we asked many times was "why is David Lowe still here?" So it makes a change someone asking where he is now. New managers in any organisation or team quite often suss out who the hangers on are pretty quickly, people who've been there years doing very little and usually on a decent wedge too. Seen it myself many times! 1 Quote

I think a lot of people who work or have worked there until recently in both a football and non football capacity would agree. Don't think it's a coincidence either that a more corporate administration soulless approach has set in since that other Rao fella was stuck onto the board of directors. Quote

Don't think the possibility that Lowe has made a long overdue departure is being queried more the fact that Suhail was seemingly unaware he was leaving or had left and apart from Ismael saying it, all other indicators are he's still employed by the Club.
