Dear god no!

Here's a Brighton fan view

https://www.wearebrighton.com/newsopinion/what-went-wrong-for-brighton-and-sami-hyypia/

Quote from the article "And that kind of sums up Hyypia’s Reign of Terror. Bad recruitment. Tactics ill-suited to the Championship. Stubbornness to the point of delusion."

Sounds like a Scandi version of VI

Brighton my local team. He was awful. Hughton came in after and was successful though.

Tony Bloom backs his managers!

Coleman would probably be the final straw breaking the camels back for this club and ownership.

Was joking about this earlier but it's how owners/those making appointment think. All dreams of a semi high profile manager coming in will not happen.

I wonder with names like Coleman, whether their agencies just put their names out there so that when they get a league 2 job or a job overseas they're thought of as "someone who was in the mix for a Championship job" and that it's a coup for the club who brings them in.

We will have the same issue attracting a manager that we have attracting players.

Venkys simply won’t pay significant wages.

Pay peanuts, get monkeys. All these ‘name’ suggestions are pie in the sky.

I can’t take Chris Coleman seriously after that clip in the Sunderland documentary when he’s arguing with a fan….

”You’re calling me a prick? I’m a married man with six kids!”

Probably what Ismael’s agent was trying to do last year.

You either get a manager who knows nothing of the league, and in turn nothing of Venkys - and hope the billy bullshitters can string them along long enough to keep us up

Or they pad their nest, get someone who knows English football.  Then we end up with someone who knows how this all works and STILL chooses to be involved.

but it really feels like Blackburn Rovers are very close to imploding as I think the next appointment will be an Owen Coyle/Steve Kean type and we will plummet into League One.

1st bit agreed.

2nd part Ismael WAS the Owen Coyle/Steve Kean type! In fact his record was probably even worse by the end.

We can't afford another

Agreed, which is why I think the club will be looking at a "young, up and coming" Head coach type of appointment. They can't command good wages and will be keen to get a Head Coach role to try and prove their worth.

Alarming people still don't 'get' odds on the next Blackburn manager market.....

For Coleman there's a link to Adam Owen, assumptions being made.....

Aye yeah the Bet Victor trader went down a Reddit rabbit hole when compiling the odds to find the link between every single manager…..

They just chuck a load of names out there (most copied over from their Leicester book), then trim the price when backed.

Coleman moved from 33/1 to 5/2. Likely not much money but I’d assume their book is fairly lob sided with bets on him if that’s the case (not many casuals are taking an interest in this market)

I think we are in Chris Coleman territory now.

Our reputation has been ruined, the squad is poor and the management team awful.

Might as well let DJ coach the team until the end of the season then, just need a bit of extra staff to support him.

Oh God, I'd not thought of that....

Collaborative Coaching Roles
Wales National Team (2012–2017): Owen served as a key member of Chris Coleman’s coaching staff during Wales' historic run to the UEFA Euro 2016 semi-finals.

Hebei China Fortune (2018–2019): After Coleman moved to the Chinese Super League, he recruited Owen to join him as his Assistant Manager. Owen spent approximately 18 months at the club.

I doubt there's anything in the Coleman link as unattractive as we may feel we are.

Hopefully just the usual red herrings being tossed about early in the betting market to relieve mug punters of some cash.

Chris Coleman as mentioned as the favourite on the last page would be a laughable appointment.

Wonder if he would bring his old assistant from his Fulham days. Steve Kean.

Adam Owen was Wales technical director during the period Coleman was manager. Looks a likely appointment if he wants it.

Owen seems to get away scot free when blame is attributed. Presumably it was his "data" that led them to conclude Ismael was the "outstanding candidate" last time.

That's why I feel Bowyer is a runner, even though he's not listed in the odds yet. Reasonably successful at one club, failed at another. That's where I think we are at. At best, it will be someone who has a mixture of failure and successes.

From the list, Wagner was my clear choice last time and still is. But I think he wouldn't take it.

Why are people advocating Damien Johnson? Now is not the time for an unqualified rookie. We need a manager that has experience to get us out of this mess

If we're hoping to emulate the Sparky success story of a former Wales manager Id rather go for Bellamy.

Not a chance he'd want it mind.

To be fair to Adam Owen, his football CV is incredible spanning both the professional game and education side of things

How so?

Has he ever kicked a ball or managed professionally?

(He may well have but Id never heard of him before he rocked up here)

If the answer is he's been a "technical director" or "Head of"  here there and everywhere that means less than nothing to me.

He would have signed off all the horrendous signings last summer. Shows what he knows.
