Kjell Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago There are apparent similarities between Eustace and Rowett: from the teams they have managed and the way they set them up to be hard to beat... their families even live in the same areas (ready excuse for subsequent sacking...). However, it became clear that Eustace is highly ambitious and builds a team around him that is very thorough and focused on creating a club culture. He builds strong connections with players, and they describe him as 'intense'. Quite different to his pressers, for sure. My only reservation about Rowett is this: would he bring an ambitious backroom team? What players does he sign? Will it be pushing us back into the playoff race? Short-term 'keep us up deal' must surely be the best option? 2 Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Whoever they appoint will have to toe the party line or be out by next Feb. It all feels so similar,so predictable,so utterly underwhelming. 2 Quote

CrouchingNunhiddenCucumber Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Rowett is far better than I could've expected, if true. It also feels like he wouldn't be anywhere near Gestede's first choice, so perhaps Pasha has seen the writing on the wall with him (who knew he would be such a fucking clown?!) and is making him the latest patsy and so he will be off shortly. This is about as positive as it could get for me at the minute, but it's still just rearranging the deckchairs on the titanic, and always will be until the cunts sell. 2 Quote

oldjamfan1 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Never mind the new manager. To clarify the 10CC story. Rumour had it that this is slightly more than the average amount of semen produced upon ejaculation - 9cc. (Sherman Tank is Cockney rhyming slang for ‘wank’ btw) and so as a joke the band came up with the name. It’s a great story and I wish it was true but it isn’t. Their producer Jonathan King (yes, him 🤢) had a dream which included a poster that said “10CC - The world’s biggest band” and so in fact it was he who came up with the name. And they were a cracking band for a few years as well. Anyway I doubt we will hear anything on the manager front today. 1 1 Quote

Which would be good. But like I say Ill believe it when it happens. Aye his methods like Eustace won't align with the cheap wage Euro/UN model they are operating now. That model is a hard sell to any gaffer worth their salt but at the end of the day i suppose it depends how desperate (or keen) to get back into work they are. With the right clauses inserted we are a very good stepping stone as proven so i guess someone like Rowett would view it as just that. I'd rather have 18 months of someone like him than be lumbered with another VI. 1 Quote
