Popular Post Dan Posted 2 hours ago Popular Post Posted 2 hours ago The light at the end of the tunnel is a train isn’t it guys? 😔 Usually I’d feel at least some optimism after a useless manager has left, I’m just thinking it’ll get worse. Do those idiots in India even know we’ve sacked the manager? We have no one at the club who knows how to recruit a manager. We’ve had muppets in charge for many years, Swag for the example, but at least he had experience of running a club(even if it was into the ground). 15 Quote

Backroom Mike E Posted 1 hour ago Backroom Posted 1 hour ago Surely Will Still is the perfect candidate? He’s used to playing the game with owners that randomly fuck you over by selling your best players. Quote

I'd go Damien Duff at the start of next season, probably wouldn't be against giving Phil Jones a shot either. (😬) Having slept on it and if they were prepared to throw a shit ton of money at it I basically agree with the principle but Allardyce or Warnock for this season rather than Mowbray. Wouldn't be against Duff next season (What about the 2 Damien's?) Or if we're going down the ex Rover route, Bellamy (probably wouldn't come) or Savage (might?) Quote
... Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Realistically would big Sam return? If offered for example Quote
TheKitGuy Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago What's Ryan Nelsen and Chris Samba up to? Reckon we can lure Roque back for half a season? 1 Quote

There’s no way we should be looking at Warnock. How many times has he retired now? His heart’s not in it, at the very least we need someone who actively wants to be involved in football 1 1 Quote

Might until the end of the season on big wages plus his usual massive bonus for staying up. (Despite him saying on Uber Eats(?) "He's done enough". Irrelevant as we probably wouldn't pay. Quote

You'd fancy Savage will get an EFL gig at some stage, his record in management so far is very impressive. If we were to go down he'd be a punt at League One level I'm sure, but for now? Would it be a huge risk? I did advocate for Dave Challinor this time last year, could he be a short and long term option should we go down? Are we a better bet than Stockport? 53% win rate in over 800 games in management. Edited 1 hour ago by rog of the rovers 2 Quote
StHelensRover Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Big Sam would probably say "give me a million quid to keep you up, that's 3 months work for me, but you'll be £10 million worse off if you go down, take it or leave it" I reckon he would take it, but I'm not sure he's the answer and I doubt we'd approach him. Imagine the scenes if did 😄 Edited 1 hour ago by StHelensRover 2 Quote
Rogerb Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Three years ago Waggott was scrambling around for weeks trying to find a new manager until Broughton took over the hunt. Begs question will Gestede be any more successful than Waggott. Quote

Will shift the power balance from Gestede + his man over to Owen and Coleman. Don't see it happening, but maybe it's just me hoping for someone better. Quote
TommyRovers Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago It’s a frightening prospect who Gestede and Pasha could put on that touchline Could literally be anyone 7 Quote

Problem was, he was one of the worst we've ever had. Quote

DutchRover Posted 53 minutes ago Posted 53 minutes ago Posted it in the other thread, but my biggest fear is more links to guys like Luis Boa Morte and George Boateng. We need a guy who will keep us up this season, then plan long-term in summer with time to shape squad (not that we will obviously) Quote

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted 49 minutes ago Posted 49 minutes ago I liked Big Sam when he was here. Blowing him out was what started the rot and it’s been downhill ever since that day. However he’s in the “ Time waits for no man “ bracket for me - like Mark Hughes, Souey, Sherwood etc 7 1 Quote
StHelensRover Posted 43 minutes ago Posted 43 minutes ago Really annoyed me the snobbery about Allardyce when he was here, fell out with my dad about it at the time. He was one of the ones complaining about style of football. I've never given a single toss about "style of football". I've filled it alongside nonsense like 'The West Ham Way'. I don't care if we play ugly and win 1-0 every week. Better than being open and losing 3-2 and 4-3 and winning nowt. For me, all sport is about winning and it doesn't matter how you do it as long as it's within the rules and fair. When your name goes on a trophy it doesn't have an extra spot that mentions the manner in which you won. You're the best. End of. 3 Quote
Kjell Posted 42 minutes ago Posted 42 minutes ago Would he cost money? Yes. Would he come back until the end of the season? I believe so. The Podcast was all about Rovers at one point. Apart from the money, it could come down to whether Rudy felt that he was treated with 'respect' when he was on. I remember Natalie Pike slating the food offering at Ewood; that probably hurt Mr Gestede's ego a bit too much to call Sam again. Quote
