Kai Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 id rather 'pool went through in the champions league than get put into Uefa and knock us out!! I'm pretty sure that if liverpool were to lose at this stage it would mean no european football. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
Florida Rover Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 id rather 'pool went through in the champions league than get put into Uefa and knock us out!! If I'm not mistaken,if Liverpool lose this tie they are out of europe altogether this year as would be any team that lost their CL qualifier tie.
cn_barlow Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 If I'm not mistaken,if Liverpool lose this tie they are out of europe altogether this year as would be any team that lost their CL qualifier tie. well... i didnt know that!! Up the Haifa!!
philipl Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 3rd Qualifying Round CL dropouts go into the 1st Round proper of the UEFA where they get knocked out again. Ask any Everton supporter and they'll tell you.
Florida Rover Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Ok Phil, thanks for the update.Sorry for any confusion on my part.
roverich Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Bellers to miss next Wales game because he has a COURT APPEARANCE. I was disappointed to lose such a quality player but it looks like he left just before causing the club further embarrassment with his February assault being brought back into the lime-light. Bellamy trial clashes with game
Ozz Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Liverpool, the 18 times English champions, 5 times European champions and overall big headed gets of football today won the Charity Shield in Cardiff, their strike force up frontat the end of the match consisting of Bellamy and Pongolle, Rovers last season rejects. Fact.

Fact. Bloody good game an 'all, played Chelsea off the park, even with Chavchenko. Distribution from Zenden was awesome, and with Bellers and the brazilian up front might not be such a one horse race this season.
broadsword Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 That is a nice pairing up front you have to say.
American Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Bloody good game an 'all, played Chelsea off the park, even with Chavchenko. Distribution from Zenden was awesome, and with Bellers and the brazilian up front might not be such a one horse race this season. They always look better in cup competitions! Also remember that Liverpool had an earlier start due to the champs league qualifier and Chelsea is still in pre-season mode. You won't see that defensive mistake by Terry during the regular season, and Chech is a much better keeper than Cudicini (definitely to blame for the first and I thought should have saved the second).
thenodrog Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Does nobody find it odd that Maureen keeps blaming defeats on the fitness levels of his players? Isn't that a reflection on his management?
roverthemoon Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Only 56,275 at the Millenium. It must be ok for the so called big clubs not to fill the stadium, but when its little old rovers we are greeted with derision.

Lee Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 It was reported during the match commentary that Chelski sold 13000 tickets. Means that we sold more for a semi-final then than Chelsea. Albeit the attendance in our semi v Arsenal was just less at 52,077
pleasure Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 It was reported during the match commentary that Chelski sold 13000 tickets. while i dont think it's right for rovers fans to critisise charity sheild attendances (after our turnouts on our 2 visits), that number is on a par with the attendances they used to get, before hoddle and gullit came. rovers'll take more than 13000 next august on bellers, he looked lively , but i wouldnt go overboard about his assist. the defending of ferreira, carvalho (who some on here think is better than nelson, and bridge was absolutely appalling. i just hope those 3 are picked for the ewood game in a couple of wks.

I know we have a guy called NelsEn though
FourLaneBlue Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 One writer seems to believe that we won't miss Bellamy this season. Blackburn Rovers won't miss Bellamy Think we'd better wait until after a few more games before worrying too much over it! The article features a certain admin member from on here too!

1864roverite Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 did anyone else hear about a possible fall out with Bellamy and Benitez on MOTD ? Not even on the bench for todays game
Jan Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 did anyone else hear about a possible fall out with Bellamy and Benitez on MOTD ? Not even on the bench for todays game Funny- I said to the guy who sits beside me that I thought we'd see Craig Bellamy back at Rovers next season. MAybe it'll be this season...........

MAybe it'll be this season........... You can't be transferred twice between two Premiership clubs in any 12 month period can you? I found this very interesting though. How can you possibly play Fowler ahead of Bellamy these days? Surely you'd just play CB for 50 mins or an hour if you were trying to conserve him. Wonder if his move will turn out to be a disaster for both us and him?
