Torgeir Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 1. Silly 2. Snidey. 3. Certainly not humerous. Whats the point of that? You need to improve the content of your posts if you want people to take you seriously. Not one to usually agree with the golfer but this one is on the money. When it comes to whipping vs. chipping crosses, MGP currently doesn't master any. He used to take all corners and freekicks for Norway as well, but his delivery was so poor that John Arne Riise are now taking them. That said I don't think he was that poor. He does his defensive duties and kept it simple with the ball at his feet, at least most of the time. Reminded me a bit of Keith Andrews in that they won't stand out but always put a shift in. Can't believe I just made that comparison

Exiled in Toronto Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Which part isn't accurate? Pedersen has only started chipping in his set pieces since Allardyce has been here. He used to whip them in or, shock horror, go for goal. They were far more dangerous. Clearly Allardyce thinks that lofting them in keeps the ball in the box for longer, increasing the chances of a loose ball falling to one of our players. It's crap football, but hey that's the style he wants us to play. Agreed. An obvious shift in tactics by the manager. A chipped ball into the 6 yard box is almost to fully clear from a basically standing jump. His whipped in ones only needed any touch to go out for a throw-in or get well clear
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Chipped in balls are meat and drink for any decent defence, the longer the ball is in the air the longer the 'keeper in particular has to deal with it. Get the ball whipped in with a bit of swerve, small striker running across the line of flight, flick it on , just duck. a nightmare to defend against.
joey_big_nose Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 I don't agree, he's been poor for as long as I can remember. When was his last good game ? The guy's a lightweight, always has been , always will be. It's time the penny dropped at Ewood. Pedersen was one of our best players for the first four games. Since then he has been getting worse and worse. I think he will be benched against Wigan. The set pieces against Chelsea were absolutely abysmal. If he is dropped who should take the set pieces in his absence? Dunn maybe if he plays. Salgado? Kind of stupid how bad our set piece takers are in an Allardyce team.... It's so tragic it is half tempting to get Robinson to take the corners..
BRFC1995 Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 If we DID replace him, he'd be earning £40-50k a week on the bench, because there's no way we could sell him - unless we pay him off. i'm not against shooting him. he is just bad, bad crosser, no pace, and his set pieces were embarrassing 2 years ago but its at the stage where it is a complete mystery how he has'nt been taken off them..........how other players can't see he is dross and take the ball off him, the amount of utterly wasted corners straight into the keepers hands is the stat i want to see. Big Chris wants to start getting angry it the crap service and have a go at him. pitiful footballer, in a crap midfield he excels at being the crappest.....i'd play ollson left wing every time just for his pace. thinking on he reminds me right now so much of another woefully crap norwegian ostenstad who i despised for not wanting to move on or go on loan and just mooch off us until his contract ran out without ever playing....unfortunately pedersen gets picked.
RIML Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 pitiful footballer, in a crap midfield he excels at being the crappest.....i'd play ollson left wing every time just for his pace. What about El Hadji Diouf? He's been brilliant on the left this season.
Backroom DE. Posted October 31, 2010 Backroom Posted October 31, 2010 I wouldn't mind EHD on the left and Mame Diouf on the right... Mame looks like he's going to be a player and also finds ways to get into the box and support the lone striker. I'd keep Olsson on the bench as he's looked off the pace thus far this season.
roversfan99 Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Also when the Dioufs are down the wings together they seem to play further forward with more intention of supporting the striker.
Exiled_Rover Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 What about El Hadji Diouf? He's been brilliant on the left this season. Player of the season so far. Still I'd have him on the right with Olsson on the left. T'other Diouf can sit on the bench and be used as an impact sub.
waggy Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Sh!te today...with a potential takeover almost complete & Charlie Adam considering walking out on his contract (+ others that become available if we get cash) - he really needs to watch his back. is that the same charlie adam who you said was not good enough for the rovers last season
Ricky Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Different day Waggy, Hughesey is permitted to change his opinion on all matters on a daily basis.
BRFC95 Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Hughesey is permitted to change his opinion on all matters on a daily basis. I didn't realise she was a woman
AHoyle90 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Anybody see his free kick and assist for Norway tonight, outstanding from Morten lets have more of the same on Sunday!
Blackburn Ravers Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Anybody see his free kick and assist for Norway tonight, outstanding from Morten lets have more of the same on Sunday! Yes mate, cracking free-kick, and great ball to Huseklepp for the winner,
Hughesy Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 is that the same charlie adam who you said was not good enough for the rovers last season Yes the same player....the same player who I still wouldnt want us to sign in an ideal world...especially not for the fees talked about last season. Im simply saying if his performances are not good then he becomes 'at risk' if we get cash....is that so difficult for you to understand? Infact dont answer I know the answer! 2pts for Ricky....well done!
chaddyrovers Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Pedersen was very good last night. great free kick and a good assist. hope he play aswell on sunday.
Backroom Tom Posted November 18, 2010 Backroom Posted November 18, 2010 For Norway? Not in all games as he didn't score Vs Spuds.
Ricky Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 3 in 4 in all games. Not too bad but will it continue is the question. I'm sure we'd all love to see him add more goals to his game.
bluebruce Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 3 in 4 in all games. Not too bad but will it continue is the question. I'm sure we'd all love to see him add more goals to his game. Definitely. The goals were always the key component of Pedersen's game- without them he has been very average (and at times, shockingly poor)
Backroom Tom Posted November 19, 2010 Backroom Posted November 19, 2010 Hid gosl was just in the contenders for Goal of the week on SSN, really was a nice free kick, hopefully see some more of those.
Amo Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Good to see Pedersen is getting back among the goals. That side of his game has eluded him in recent years. I know people on this forum are always quick to label people "haters" (because rational argument is too difficult), but I'll criticize any player who underperforms in a Rovers shirt on a consistent basis, especially when they have the talent - i.e Pedersen. If he can recapture the form which made him such a hit at the club, then I'll have no beef with him.
LeChuck Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 He's much better in that deeper central role, it's when he's moved into Dunn's position that he disappears.
