Whilst that is still a decent figure, that fact you think that the 50p rate applied to someone's entire wage shows how ignorant you are of the facts.

Why not just lock this thread anyway, paper made a claim which wasn't true and has now been denied. What else is there to discuss?

Where did I say the 50p rate applied to the whole of earnings ?

This thread went off topic because of your outrageous claims against the BBC.

The BBC is publicly funded broadcaster respected around the world. News Corp is a ravenous global corporate beast with dubious moral ethics that for years has been influencing the political elite - which would you prefer as the country's main news organisation ?

The Murdoch were judged not to be "fit and proper" by the Commons select committe - do you expect the BBc to report the news by ignoring it ?

Pleae enlighten me on how the Beeb is trying to "shut down News Corp". However desirable that may be I think you're wrong.

I didn't make the claim that 'Murodch had been trying to shut down the beeb for years' which wasn't justified by any facts so I don't need to prove any for my counter.

And I don't want the country to have a 'main news organisation', I want it to have a varied selection of media. I don't live in North Korea so the idea of 'state television' has never appealed to me.

Where did I say the 50p rate applied to the whole of earnings ?

Here...

And the reduction of the 50p tax band gave those earning £1m plus an instant £50,000 a year pay rise

Pity Labour didn't regulate the banks when they had the chance, but they seemed more interested in bankrupting the country instead and spending money they didn't have.

They're all out of touch, non of them has ever had a proper job, I'm no Tory but these Labour supporters sat on high horses need to climb down.

+1

Always found the Labour folk to be supremely hypocritical.

What school did Blair go - ah yes, Fettes, a privileged boarding school. And how did he manage to get his children into London's best catholic school. Don't think Jim would have managed that one !!!

And as for Mandelson - don't get mt going.

And what did Dianne Abbot do for her child - oh yes, more selective private schooling.

The stench of hypocrisy from Labour is nauseating. Do as I say, not what I do just about sums them up !

Reply from the Daily Star, to a fans complaint.

I should point out that in my experience, just because a manager/club official/player denies an incident occurred, it does not mean that is actually the case.

Good luck for the rest of the season... Andy Rose Sports News Editor

Especially at Blackburn Rovers where we are used to a stream of drivel from a bunch of habitual liars probably should have been added....

MG's dialect seems to get more local every time he/she posts.

That post reads suspisiously like a Rovers PR prepared statement.

Didn't Philip state that MG Road is actually a Scot?

Just to confirm what has already been said.

There was no 'attack.' The chap wandered into the un-locked car park, said he had written to various people in the FA and at Ewood with no reply. He said he wanted to speak with Steve Kean. This was denied.

He was escorted to the gate by Steve's bodyguard, where they chatted for the better part of an hour. He left his name and contact details with Steve's BG, and quietly went on his way.

The story DID NOT come from any part of BRFC's PR dept, officially or unofficially. Most likely it was 'leaked' by one of the cafeteria staff at the training grounds or one of the taxi drivers who bring staff to and from the grounds.

How could you possibly know this ?

That wouldn't tie in with the reasonable standard of English though ;)

I think MG road is Steve Kean, Steve Kean's mouthpiece, or an associate. I'm sure almost sure of it! (not a joke).

His posts always arouse suspicion.

*waits for obligatory 'I can verify MG Road is the real deal and I've had his babies' response*

Tom M would it have killed you to move our discussions to a new thread in ICBINF rather than getting trigger happy with your delete button?

Obviously it wouldn't, nor would it have to stick on topic or post in a relevant thread in ICBINF

Ps nothing is deleted just out of view

It's quite obvious you are part of said PR dept, even if your IP address is somewhere in India. You've stooped to new low though blaming the dinner ladies! Sad man.

Hello, M.G. You still haven't properly responded to post 662 of the Shebby Singh thread. We'd appreciate an answer...

There's absolutely no way you could know that for certain, just as there's no way we can say that the cafeteria staff or taxi drivers definitely did not leak it.

Come on now Booth, I'm sure MG can tell you everything that happens at the club despite being in Pune. With him being a mere employee who just let's us know what he hears and all that. No doubt Keano, Aggers or one of the other assorted Hunts keep Venkys up to speed with everything that's going on. Still, what can they do, it must be really really hard trying to run Blackburn Rovers from so far away.

By the way, any visa applications gone in? Any money in the club safe need whisking away? Should we be expecting you and the clueless ones on Monday MG? You know, share the pain around a bit.

Didn't really know whether I should put this here or in another thread as it relates to quite a few. RANT TIME. I am absolutely sick of people trying to protect and big up Steve Brent. And as for Eric Black saying he deserves a knighthood... well he needs to spend some time with the A & E staff on the nightshift at weekends, the squaddies in Afghanistan, the front line police lads, teachers in 'difficult' inner city schools where gang culture prevails. At risk of being sworn at or attacked is he? Full of dignity in awful circumstances is he? Utter nonsense. People working in the professions that I've just mentioned, and probably many more, would find it utterly ridiculous that Kean is being made out to be this brave hero. Ask them if they'd swap their jobs to take a bit of stick from fans sat behind barriers with a 'minder' at your side and tell them how many hundreds of thousands of pounds they'd get in return, they'd jump at the chance! Poor old Steve Kean? Not on your nelly!

And it's fair to say they couldn't have done any worse.

Any paper that hires Polly Toynbee is not 'slightly left of centre'. I seem to have hit a slight nerve with my critsism of the Guardian it seems, maybe this will will change your mind about their credibility...

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/mar/21/steve-kean-blackburn-manager-of-year

I'd happily punch the numbskull who wrote that!
