Doubt its the Qataris. Not their style to go public. Whoever it is will try to pressure Venkys into a reasonable sale. That's my two-cents.

Bobby, despite your presence in that area, I think you could be wrong here!!

If the offer is'nt way more than what they paid they will not sell simple as.

Dont get too exited guys, we have had far too many false hopes this season to suffer more heartbreak.

Exactly. Wise words. There has been no suggestion Venkys will sell us.

IMO the only person who has any idea what Venkys are up to is Kean! Nobody 'ITK 'does.

Although, I'm not doubting the ITK's have Rovers best interests at heart - and it is interesting stuff- Nothing from the ITK's, who claim to have sources close to the owners, has been proven correct for many months.

There is just rumour and counter rumour.

The main blame for this lies with the owners lack of communication

But my biggest issue is, who would want to buy Rovers ? Apart from fans groups/ consortium's ? Nobody wanted to but us when we were a top 6/ top ten prem side!

Kamy is already trying to dampen expectations with his latest tweets.

I've FINALLY learnt not to get seduced by false hopes- I learnt the hard way

IMO move along.. nothing to see here! I would love to be proved wrong, but the last 12 months have made me very cynical.

i dont want to look like someone who would 'look a gift horse in the mouth' but if there are other potential buyers, i would rather wait and see if there is someone out there with serious money who can completely turn us around rather than go for the first consortium that turns up, we will need some serious cash just to get out of the championship!!!

But if an offer comes in and looks like it might be accepted won't that mean that others will then show up too if they are interested. the first thing to do surely is to ensure that if there were to be an offer, somehow Venkys are persuaded they want to sell. Look at Rangers. there have been several bids once it was known the club was for sale. Now we're not them and I know the circumstances aren't the same, but people may start sniffing round Rovers if they think a sale is a possibility.

I didnt say they wont buy/offer, but said they wont go "public" with their intentions. You'll know its done, when its done with people from Middle East. They dont do their business out in the open. I guarantee you that it wont be a Qatari group with quotes going "public" tomorrow.

If an offer comes in, we can do all we can to pressurize them into a sale.

Problem is, how?

They have no interest in what is happening here or in the British media, the only thing the care about is how they are percieved in India as successful respectable business people. We would have to target them in the Indian press and as we have seen the Indian press have their tongues so far up Venky's behinds its untrue.

I'll still say Battersby/Currie. If someone does get the club of Venky then I hope they have some real money behind them.

maybe - Battersby's pause in the Radio Lancs interview when it cropped up made me wonder if something was going on

Guess it's a bit late to hope Barclays force a sale?

settle debt to barclays, move financial dealings to foreign bank - stop the risk of any forced anything.

Just imagine a press conference live on SSN, ITV, Sky News etc down at Brockhall....These new owners are sat there, Kean is sat next to them and the following happens..

Buyers: "May I first say what a privilege it is to have purchased this historic club"

Reporter: "What things are you going to change now you have full control?"

Buyers: "Well this first thing we intend to do is going to happen right no"

Buyers turn to Kean and hand over a sheet of paper

Reporter: "What was that you passed to Steve Kean?"

Buyers: "That was Mr Kean's P45, security please can you escort this man off the premises"

and so on.....

This needs to happen.

Instant club heroes...

But Battersby said on Radio Lancashire that the blub was only worth 1/3 of what Venkys allegedly is selling for. If thats the case, Venkys will never sell.

It's all negotiation though. The truth is it has devalued, but not 2/3rds. Venkys trying to keep value high by saying debt-free and Battersby saying basically worthless.

VERY good call Dennis!

I hope there is some truth in this rumour but I fear these arrogant buggers now in charge have not yet finished shafting us all.

It depends on how serious these would be owners are...Venkys wicket is getting stickier by the day .

Ok , they said 'not for sale ' but i am not so sure, what can Venkys hope to gain from the club now ?

If they stay in charge and keep the deluded one , this time next year we will be going down again .

I am hoping this is a serious bid , someone with football intelligence .

We are lead to believe , even the Raos are split on whether to sell .

This could get very messy , we need a serious bidder and the national newspapers to destroy the Venky and Kean myth , once and for all .

Here's food for thought, on Scottish news they said that the guy who approached Rangers pulled out because, to quote him loosely, he "saw a better opportunity" that was apparently outwith the SPL.

Now, Rangers are as good as dead, but Rovers have at least the parachute payments and SOME value in the squad. He knows his football too from what I hear.

Rovers would most likely be up for sale for a similar amount to what Rangers were too.

Interesting...
