chaddyrovers Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Venkys tend to sack their manager the day after a game. Did that to Big Sam, Appleton and Berg.

tomphil Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 No idea whether it had any bearing on Rovers but in the summer they were forced to cut back on some of the chicken products they supply to conform with some regulations in India. May have spooked their bank a bit. Think you might be wrong on that score, Apparently they scored a huge business deal in the chicken world earlier this year which stems from the USA and beyond. It was correct on the cutbacks in supply to conform with some new regs according to the Indian business press, unless they were pulling some stroke and playing about with share prices. Prob made no difference to anything though as like you say fingers in many pies. Perhaps the new deal is their new form of toy to play with.
Mercer Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 No disrespect mercer but you do talk a lot of bunkum pal, you have absolutely no foundation in which to base this argument. I'll give you one thing though you keep them coming, you've not got anything right so far, but the law of averages say you'll get one right soon, let's hope it this. Then please tell me Gav how V's will exit Rovers ? The timing is right - this season, the parachute payments finish and promotion has almost certainly 'gone' for yet another season. Something has to give and pretty soon in my view. Their behaviour since last season ended could be termed as strange at best.
Gav Posted October 27, 2015 Author Posted October 27, 2015 Venkys tend to sack their manager the day after a game. Did that to Big Sam, Appleton and Berg. I'd bet Steb's mortgage that Venkys don't even know we have a game on Thursday.

I also hope you backed Wednesday tonight, easy money, fill yer boots.

the original david brent Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Not entirely correct chaddy. I seem to recall Appleton wasn't sacked immediately after the Burnley game - sure it was a couple of days later during the middle of the next week
chaddyrovers Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Appleton was sacked on the Monday after the Burnley game which was on a Sunday
the original david brent Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Having just checked numerous links on google he was sacked on the morning of Tuesday 19th March!
Baz Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Bowyer is going nowhere. Venkys don't want the expense of replacing him, and Shaw & Myers are happy keeping under the radar.
Backroom DE. Posted October 27, 2015 Backroom Posted October 27, 2015 Having just checked numerous links on google he was sacked on the morning of Tuesday 19th March! It was indeed March 19. http://www.brfcc.com/mb/index.php/topic/28592-appleton-sacked/
J*B Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I'm almost certain this is another from Mercer which never even begins to happen.
Athlete Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Sacking a manager a day before a game Agree makes no sense even though he needs to go.. But we're talking about a basket case of a club so anything is possible
Baz Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Who is Peter Eggleston? Theres a rovers supporter on twitter called peter david eggleston, who looks like he's in thailand. @peterdavidegg No idea if it's the same guy.
roverandout Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Same @#/?, different day, nothing will happen, Mercer will get blamed, yada yada, yada, (yawn)
Amo Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Same @#/?, different day, nothing will happen, Mercer will get blamed, yada yada, yada, (yawn) Yup, we've been here before. You can't blame people for clinging to any sliver of hope... false or otherwise.
Mercer Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I'm almost certain this is another from Mercer which never even begins to happen. Let's get this straight. A Peter Eggleston started this with a post on Twitter. I then said "I think it's likely there is something afoot as there was some speculation on Saturday about an announcement 'within days'." What specifically this announcement would be, if there is one, is not entirely clear. This and the Eggleston tweet might, or might not, be related. It is also generally speculated that V's will exit this season should Rovers not be promoted and the parachute monies finish. IMV, their behaviour since last season ended has done nothing to dispel this view. IMV, already we have virtually nil chance of promotion this season. All I have done is to provide a view on a not unrealistic potential exit strategy which would also help Venky's save some face.
RevidgeBlue Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Why are people getting excited about some random tweet from a bod named Peter Eggleston who is seemingly based in Thailand? Seems like an attention seeking tweet and/or wind up to me. However if something big is afoot at Ewood later today I'll settle for Bowyer and Shaw out, Carlo Ancelotti and Tom Finn in and the V's to reaffirm their commitment to the Club with a £100m transfer war chest when we come out of embargo in the summer. Complete nonsense but probably no further off the mark than these rumours and Mercers latest predictions.
roverzee Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Let's get this straight. All I have done is to provide a view on a not unrealistic potential exit strategy which would also help Venky's save some face. It's "Mercerman says Rhodes leaves in the next transfer window" NIL playing "Rhodes is still here" SEVEN So forgive me for questioning your not unrealistic bullshite strategy-based lets get this straight face-saving exit from what you previously stated. It's all complete rubbish.
booth Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 To be fair to Mercer I've heard months ago from two sources that a few notable buyers are sniffing around (not your chancer fake billionaires). One source I can't vouch for but the other is very in the know. I still wouldn't hold my breath though. The club seems to be poisoned to the core. As someone elsewhere said, I've never known this to happen to a club before.
perthblue02 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Would hope the big announcement will be related to the fans Q and A and the managing director of the company admitting to signing off documents that are not beneficial to their baby But this is Venky's who have rewarded 5 years of deceit , lies and failure, so expect the announcement to be that Balaji has arranged with the nobbers for Akon to do the half time draw at the Preston game and sing a song in honour of the fifth anniversary of the projects takeover and will be celebrity manager in the second half of the game.
bob fleming Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 What with the big rumblings on Saturday you heard Mercer (I'm assuming this was at Ewood? I thought you'd packed in) plus the vague singular tweet of a man in Thailand - I expect today to come and go quietly. But hey, if you don't buy a raffle ticket....
davulsukur Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 it's the hope that kills you. Social media has destroyed part of football. 99% of the rumours that circulate twitter/facebook turn out to be complete bullplop.
