Well some would say that was a protest vote

More of an apathy vote or rather a 'don't want to feckin jinx things up' vote

No he left Leeds when Rosler was sacked as head coach

Just read up on Kelly. Been around the block but obviously highly qualified/ experienced and a pal of Irvine.

Looks a goodun.

It is. I'm a WUM, didn't you know?

Anyway, FFP aside, Venkys could buy QPR and Fulham for cash. Let's just get the effing thing done. We're spoilt kids, and therefore deserve an effing good manager. Let's do this and put B*rnley back in their rightful place - well and truly below us. That's all that matters.

I did know that already ;)

Hey this is a dream team with lots of extra benefits.

Alan Irvine knows the club, its history, the youth development set-up etc etc. Did he cross for Hendry's winner in Full Members Cup?

Rob Kelly actually set up the Youth development system(in the 90s) before he went with one of our Managers or support staff to Leicester and then was over-promoted to Manager. Still lives in Ribble Valley and a top guy to talk to.

And with 5000+ to welcome them at PNE it will seem that they HAVE joined a big Club.

Then at home the following week hopefully some of our 'disillusioned' fans will give the Rovers a chance(until at least January)

That's what I like - glass half full :rover:

Lambert, Irvine and Kelly exceeds our expectations.

That is some line up compared with Bowyer, Short, Grant and McPhillips.

Irvine and Kelly both have recent experience and knowledge of Championship which has to be a bonus.

Not been as excited about Rovers since Big Sam went.

I really don't understand why the need for all this pessimism, optimism and speculation all at the same time. When Don Mackay was sacked it took Kenny Dalglish 40 days to confirm he would take the job. Even though we had Jack Walker and Bill Fox doing the negotiating. When Brian Kidd went it was142 days before Graham Souness arrived, although I admit we had Tony Parkes holding the fort.

Paul Lambert, or whoever, is entitled to make sure he is satisfied with the contract on offer

People don't trust the owners, that's the reason for the pessimism renrag, completely understandable after what's taken place over the past 5yrs.
