Lancaster Rover Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I wonder if this is why Ward was a termination and sign, rather than a loan till the end of season then sign like is the norm. Saves us 1 slot That would make sense, also makes sense about Jackson who was a free agent.

Lancaster Rover Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I've just checked the rules with my old man who works in football. No more than 5 on the teamsheet. No more than 8 at the club at any time. It then gets pretty complex on total numbers as they count up half, full and emergency loans but disregard any under 21's. He finished by saying he has never known a loan being turned down by the FL.
47er Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Exactly, it's also why the likes of Gibson and Hoolahan would be inspired signings. Great business so far. Shrewd and inexpensive. Very little risk financially. Proof that the manager is making the signings.. I still think the best is yet to come in this window. Let's wait and see! I hope the next signings are shrewd but I am sure they will be inexpensive.
had.e.nuff Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I see charlie adam is looking for regular football wolves and brighton are looking as he lives in Poulton le Fylde would be a good signing for us a bit of creativity

Lancaster Rover Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Decent shout, been sub a lot for Stoke recently, getting on for the last 20 at most.
FGS5635 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Would need some big help from Stoke as his wages would be fairly mega I'd imagine
Reedy You're A Star Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I notice Steve Sidwell hasn't been getting much game time at Stoke and looks to be out of contract at the end of the season. Could be another option for a try before you buy deal. Even though he's 33 now he's still better than most of our current midfielders.

Blandy Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Bournemouth looking to let Lee Tomlin out on loan would add a bit of Dunn type creativity!
Salgado Is Still A Hero Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Bournemouth looking to let Lee Tomlin out on loan would add a bit of Dunn type creativity! Definitely. Send Lawrence back and play Tomlin as a No.10. Sunderland willing to let Jordi Gomez and Adam Matthews (RB) leave apparently. Would love both of them.

I'm taking this to include oversea's loans too ... so there's still hope for a couple of Germans or Spanish on loan from his good mate Pep
Lancaster Rover Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I didn't ask about overseas to be honest, I cant see them being much different. The only things I could see are loan days due to differing fixture schedules and international clearances/registrations, etc.
Ribble Rover Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Sidwell and Ireland double signing. Come on sparky help us out. .....!!!!
AdamRochina Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Douglas. .brazillian right back from Barcelona is aloud to Leave for free lol ...far fetched I know but we need a right back
mustard Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Douglas. .brazillian right back from Barcelona is aloud to Leave for free lol ...far fetched I know but we need a right back I actually once signed him on loan for Rovers in the Champ on FM15. He was pretty tosh.
sharpysharps Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Seems like plenty of chatter on twitter than Olsson is on his way to Derby now. That would certainly leave us very short at LB with only Spurr available. Pretty disapointed if Olsson does move on but Lambert must feel he doesn't fit in with his plans. If this all does indeed happen then we definetely need someone through the door.
AJW Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 i think we'd be ok with Spurr and Henley as back up until the end of season
Amo Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 i think we'd be ok with Spurr and Henley as back up until the end of season I agree. Then release Spurr in the summer, buy a new LB and keep Henley as backup.
mustard Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I think we'd need at least a loan signing in if Olsson goes. Personally, I think Spurr is poor. His lack of pace and mobility not only hinders him going forward, but defensively as well. He leaves Conway isolated and has a real lack of decision making skill particularly when it comes to moving forwards. And anytime he does get upfield, he's way too slow to get back. I think he's been a weak link in recent games.
RoverMinion Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Olsson closing on a transfer to Derby: http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/Derby-County-transfer-talk-Rams-closing-Blackburn/story-28579692-detail/story.html?He has apparently been stalling on a contract and Rovers want to cash in whilst they can. Can't say I am surprised. Have met both Martin and Marcus in the past and both were uber arrogant. Hope we bring in some pace before the window closes. Marcus was one of the few elements in our team that could hit opponents on the break with pace. Not that he can cross or pass to give a damn.
AJW Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Joe Bennett ..... english , mid 20's left back who is out in the cold at his current club , had a couple of loan moves to championship clubs in past but more importantly .... Ex-Paul Lambert
Mani Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Gotta say, listening to Lambert...he's desperate for Rhodes to go!! Sounds like he's been promised the money to me...possibly even has players lined up ready..

I thought it was just a Scottish student demanding the removal of another statue at Oxford!
