Backroom Tom Posted June 23, 2016 Backroom Posted June 23, 2016 I'm not sure st the moment but will probably renew. I don't see it being that much different to last season, nothing has drastically changed for me we go into a season with another uninspiring yes man after briefly flirting with a better option. Understand that last season was your point of no return but for many it was before that and for many it will be after that. There's no right and wrong here

gumboots Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I'm out and have seen absolutely nothing to make me change my mind. I decided for definite when Lambert went but could have been persuaded by any number of green shoots of hope to change my mind. None of them has happened and things have lurched from bad to worse. My St renewal went back with a letter explaining why I wasn't renewing. Nobody will have read it and I don't expect a reply or even an acknowledgement but I said it and they can't say they weren't yold
Parsonblue Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I've renewed and I'm happy with that. I had doubts about doing the away games but I've decided to continue with that as well. After 50 odd years I decided I couldn't walk away.
ABBEY Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 I don't choose or class it as "walking away" it's not supporting Venky FC for me
Parsonblue Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I don't choose or class it as "walking away" it's not supporting Venky FC for me Apologies Abbey, I meant no disrespect. I fully appreciate and respect your decision and know how hard it must have been to make that decision. It really is a sad state of affairs and one which the owners and Cheston seem completely oblivious to.
ABBEY Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 cheers parson, I don't think cheston and company are oblivious though , I just don't think they give a flying f as long as the money is washed. the above is only opinion and in no way accussing them of anything .
LDRover Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 No change of mind from me, I won't be renewing and the pack has been returned to sender with a nice message in it.
CAPT KAYOS Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Apologies Abbey, I meant no disrespect. I fully appreciate and respect your decision and know how hard it must have been to make that decision. It really is a sad state of affairs and one which the owners and Cheston seem completely oblivious to. To be fair also PB -as you state they appear oblivious to , which as I have mentioned before you are acknowledging that all is not well so rather than just sit back and renew S/T its up to yourself and similar S/T re-newers to do something when attending and ramp it up against the loons, otherwise imo its justified to be labelled' as the 'Rovers Fan brigade' as you are in fact accepting the regime and what it is doing.
chaddyrovers Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Renewed. All of the people who I attend with have. Decide we couldnt walk away from our Club and watching football. Tho it would be nice for them to speak and feedback from those not renewing.
Leonard Venkhater Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Won't get fooled again. Not renewed. I will watch the next few weeks carefully.
onlyonejackwalker Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I'm not going this season. 40+ years of attending, 23 with a season ticket. Sadly it won't be as big a wrench as it would once upon a time. I don't like or respect what we have become. I would have left immediately but others still wanted to go. I don't rate the product or matchday experience, feel valued, engaged or involved. I feel somewhat outside looking in. Those I used to go with have passed on, I have work if I want it at weekends and a million other things me and my family can enjoy together. Credit to all those still attending. Empathy with those who cannot stomach it anymore irrespective of the reasons. Love the Rovers. But not Venkys Rovers. There truly was onlyonejackwalker.
arbitro Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I will not be there neither will my family and close friends. Between me and my two brothers we have over 150 years of supporting Rovers and at some stage all our children have been season ticket holders. Sad, sad state of affairs.

It is a sad state of affairs and I am in the same position as you after 50 years. Even more sad is that I do not think anyone at the Club gives a toss. That just about sums up how community and fan unfriendly Rovers have become. From family Club towards the sewer.
sambo Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 It would take something pretty special this summer to convince me to renew. I still believe that renewing is supporting the regime, although it'd be hypocritical of me as a long-term ST holder to criticise people who do. I was very critical of 'renewers' earlier this summer, but understand how difficult it is for people
Gav Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Letting Paul Lambert walk away was absolutely criminal. His appointment was the only good decision they've made in 6yrs and to let him walk away was the final straw for me and Ive not even started on the possible Seneca takeover! But what also really disappoints me is the lack of any action from the fan base, or especially fan groups to the continued rape and destruction of this great club. This club means so much to me, my family and friends, but it seems its just a side show for many fans, not that important really and that doesn't sit well with me at all, its just an example of how society is today, I'm ok so b0llox to everything else, don't want to ruffle any feathers, its only football So its boycott for me and whilst its tough, especially because I fancy doing the away games, I think it'll get easier once the season starts, because Coyle is a terrible appointment, he doesn't have the tools to turn this club around sadly, so its going to be a long hard season, one which I'll be watching from a distance. #venkys out - Its the only way this club can start to heal.
JBiz Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 1. But what also really disappoints me is the lack of any action from the fan base, 2. #venkys out - Its the only way this club can start to heal. 1. What've you done? 2. How do we do this and how does boycotting help?
Gav Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 1. What've you done? 2. How do we do this and how does boycotting help? This is a boycotting thread and I posted my thought. You've attempted to bait Abbey on the transfer thread and now you're attempting the same on here, which is pretty poor attention seeking bullsh1t. Grow up
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted June 23, 2016 Moderation Lead Posted June 23, 2016 I realise I know JBizzle personally, so I'll no doubt be accused of bias, but I really don't see an issue with what he posted Gav, seemed fair enough to me....

If it hadn't come straight on the back of his transfer thread baiting of Abbey and the questions hadn't been answered 100 times to him directly id agree.

And blaming the fans isn't baiting anyone who still might want to go? I read two topics in a row and both are identical- the fans don't do enough! I'm sick of being preached to on here about what I should've done or why I should walk away.

To be fair Gav - I don't see the issue with this either and we are in the same mould as Abbey However as you state the timing - Abbey can speak for himself and will will no doubt This can be turned on its head though and at least can be answered though 1 - Took a stance and decided not to go anymore 2 - Makes a point So what have you done Jbizzle?

Kept my seat because the football club means a lot to me success or not. I'm as angry as anyone but it really frustrates to be told I'm part of the problem. I know it comes down to opinions but many here still constantly stick the knife in fans as if they are responsible.

As for your don't blame fans , pray remind us who stood behind the safety of a box and ranted at the Blackburn end fans .

Fair enough JB and no qualms with that - but can you not see that they have you by the short and curlies and if you agree all is not good at the club, you are in effect contributing to their mindset of thinking that they have your backing. As I have stated with PB - your choice if you continue to go for which you argue, but don't then consolidate to say everything is not rosy in the garden when basically they are using that 'loyalty' to help spread the manure they are putting in it.
