Look over the other side of Pendle hill if you want to see something that is, always was and always will be the very definition of small time. Still freezing In our shadow despite being 2 divisions above your living beyond your means now and it wont last.

New training complex is going to be passed next week dept free . rover trying to keep up the facade of a premiership club 100 & god only knows how many £100 & odd million & rising in dept. Its time someone someone said there is no money left. All we have needed is a jack walker. But I will settle for a Trevor Hemmings good English chairman. I have a feeling things at Ewood have not hit the rock bottom yet.    Its nice having a bit of fun while waiting for the fixtures to be released.

You must have a very dull life with very few friends if you get a kick from joining other club's fans forums just to goad them.

Although you probably still live at home with Mummy and don't get out much.

Absolutely disagree as ever on Lowe Biz.

He didn't get in people's faces and break up play. He didn't 'win the ball back and give it to others'.

His passing was poor. Not just creative passing but simple balls to his teammates were often under hit or off target making the receiving player work to receive the ball. Evans and Guthrie could clearly pass better and they aren't exactly,Tugay.

As for decent technique, come on. His touch was poor as was his control. Was it Bristol City away we conceded because he couldn't  trap a hoofed clearance once?

Plenty of goals we conceded featured J Lo either switching off or not closing down.

He has been an ever present in our decline when anybody else with a molecule of skill or value has left. Let's see where he ends up but I bet he doesn't play 30+ games for a Championship side ever again. Good riddance.

Imo, Jason was particularly useful at breaking up counter attacks when used in the centre because of the ground he covered. Relative to others in his positions in his time, we've hardly been blessed - also far better right back than Henley who is supposably a right back. We are talking about an ever decreasing talent pool - not a squad chock full of stars sidelined by the managers best mate.

You don't get good at multiple positions without basic technical ability, and unlike others  - he had decent positional sense. I think he will have plenty of offers at this level.

I think sometimes people forget, we are not talking Tugay levels here. We aren't talking  Savage, Mokoena or N'zonzi. This is someone who would definitely have been a lot less utilised if we'd stayed at the highest level. I also think it's worth taking into account the constant change of direction and issues at the club!

The initial point was a joke about being overly bitter about Mahoney leaving when he does. Nothing is going to change my opinion on Jason, and quite frankly I'm sure you, like me and probably others - can't be bothered talking anymore about him!

Good riddance to another of our developed players for absolutely nothing? Hardly.

I actually agree with this.

The trouble is they were our counter attacks.

We had better centre midfielders who were benched or played out of position to accommodate him.

It's not even as though it's just my opinion. Our results, league position, and now division bear this out. Yes, there is more too it than Lowe but him being at the heart of the side has been the one constant about the side when everything else has changed. Unless he was injured he was never left out. Then our worst manager since Kean made him the leader.

Football is a team game, there are more than just a handful of reasons for poor results, it's a bit much to catalogue results, league position and now division at his door really.

I've no objection to you assuming you speak as the anti-Jason Lowe oracle either, but I will still have my own opinion. Nowt can change that now.

I will also struggle to enjoy losing players for nothing or cheap to clubs we previously took players from. Whether it's Connor Mahoney - a potentially decent winger with a bit of pace who didn't quite make the impact or an older more experienced versatile pro with the correct physical attributes and attitude.

Some pretty daft posts on here about Lowe. The lad's been a constant first choice pick for 6 years. Every manager - and there's been a few - in that time has put him at the heart of the team. To blame him for our demise when the club has been ripped apart by the owners is clearly nonsensical . I hope he gets a good move - he deserves it if only to get away from idiotic so-called supporters  .

Do you feel sorry for him?

I don't dislike the guy, he was an ok -mediocre player in a downward spiral of a club, and I wish him well for the future.

BUT

'Every manager - and there's been a few' has led us to where we are now. In League One. Being a first choice pick throughout that time isn't exactly a ringing endorsement.

After being signed on pro terms under Allardyce in 2009 and after a couple of sub appearance Lowe got a first team start under Kean in 2011, I think as a RB.

Within little more than a month Kean had given him a 5 year contract at PL terms.

In 2013 under Bowyer the contract was extended to this year.

Berg and Appleton were around for so short a period of time they were stuck with the players they had.

The same can be said for Lambert, Coyle and Mowbray.

7 managers have picked him but most had limitations on alternatives.

Personally I think he should have become specialised as a RB but maybe the way the game has developed his lack of pace would have found him out. His passing limitations in midfield are there for all to see.

I also think his foot injuries have severly impacted on his development ...regression?

Nevertheless he joined us young, has had a well (over) paid Rovers career during our downward spiral and it's time he moved on.

The LT, bless 'em, preparing the way. If we lose him well at least we tried.

http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/15341122.Rovers_keen_to_bring_in_Peter_Whittingham_but_face_competition_from_Championship_clubs/?ref=mac

Do Rovers pay the LT or is it the other way around?

I think we'll sign him. My worry is if a 32 year old playmaker will hack it in the rough and tumble of League 1. Whittingham is languid in style to say the least. He'll be the best footballer in that league though.

If Whitto (as he is now known) is a sign(ing) of things to come then Mowbray is going to try and 'total football' his way out of the English lower leagues:)

I expect Mowbray wants to play a passing style of play in a 4-2-3-1 with 3-4-2-1 formation being his back up.

I think Whittingham will be decent signing.

Mulgrew at CB, Whitto in midfield. We'll be 'Culture Club' :D

And if both aren't at Rovers we'll still be a culture of sorts. Like yogurt a year past its sell by date

With Lowe and Henley moving on could this be the last of the Kean 'legacy' he left us with? Both were exceptionally lucky to have him there to dole out long term contracts to average Joe's. That said I would be amazed if Kean didn't make money on the back of them two signing bumper deals.

What the hell was Kean up to there. Something very smelly no doubt about it.

And the Raos loved the git, well then anyway.
