He’s a total has been, goes anywhere for the money. I used to respect him but not nowadays. I also hate Leeds where every time I went with the Rovers I was spit upon from their gobshite fans. Can’t wait for them to be relegated the odious bar stewards.

Big Sam on 3 million to keep them up ... the canny lad will have checked the fixture list and will be on a good screw for failure.

He will fail and it's quite possible Leeds will only pick up a point or two going forward.

I too will revel in their relegation and in Big Sam walking away with a good wedge of their money for doing SFA

Good luck to them?! Do you have a desire specifically for Chelsea to push on? Funny watching them toil.

It's was tongue in cheek comment cos it's a mess there. If Pochettino gets the job then I can see improving on this season massively

Would agree with that, I think they were perhaps hasty to sack Tuchel who unlike what has followed IS a top class manager. I get that Lampard inherited Chelsea not at the top but he has actually made them worse, and seems to pick his teams and systems out of a hat. 6 losses from 6 is laughable. Stick to punditry, you are not cut out to be a manager and have failed at 4 clubs now!

Tuchel's relationship with the new Chelsea owners had hit rock bottom so after that only 1 winner there and its not Tuchel.

I don't think Lampard failed in his spells at Derby or Chelsea 1st spell. Think his 1st season at Chelsea was good given the club was in transfer embargo

Lampard has been like an FM player who takes over a club they dislike just to ruin them. In fact, it seems the new owners are like that too, in that they are like if you went into the data editor and gave them the worst judgement and loads of money.

I haven't played football manager since about 2011, so the references are probably a bit out dated.

The reason the relationship hit rock bottom was Tuchel wouldn't let the owner and a bunch of friends into the dressing room at half time! That's just sheer lunacy on the part of the owner driving out a very good manager for the sake of his ego. That's a massive criticism and idiocy by the owner who deserves everything he's getting for such incompetence. That can't be held against Tuchel at all.

I agree with you here. At Derby he did no better and no worse than the previous season so I wouldn't class that as a failure. His first season at Chelsea was widely regarded as good by most given the circumstances he was in. The start of the second season wasn't great but a fair few thought he was hard done by being canned so soon.

Everton and his second spell at Chelsea have absolutely destroyed is reputation. If he has any further aspirations to manage he should get his head down and work as a coach under experienced managers for a few years rather than take the short cuts he has so far.

  • Moderation Lead

As much as I think pundits definitely say things to get people talking, ring into Talksport fuming etc, I wonder if Carragher still thinks Haaland is holding Man City back?

I like Big Sam. He's great entertainment. You know he was saying it for a reaction and a bit tongue in cheek, however you'd be naive to say there isn't a small part of him that believes that statement.

To be fair to him, his record has stood the test of time but he has become synonymous with a certain brand of football and being the relegation escape artist of football. I'd have loved to have seen him given a good crack at managing an elite club to try and back up some of his bluster. I think he'd have failed miserably, but it would have been great to watch.

I'd like to see what he would have done with England. Could have gone either way. We'll never know.

Great manager for us. I knew we were doomed the minute he was sacked.

I know this won't go down well on here but sacking BFUS was the best thing Venkys did, what happened afterwards the worst.

I think England would have won a tournament by now had Big Sam stayed in charge.
