I've always understood that you're not supposed to end a half whilst a team is actively engaged in an attack. Noticed how you never see a fulltime whistle blown when somebody is about to strike the ball?

Wasn't there a world cup match that a British ref blew-up for half time as one team scored from a corner ? It was a while ago.

It seemed the Palace manage was seeking to cup tie any player that is attracting interest - keen to keep his best players until the end of the season (when he is also expecting to leave).

I’ve always believed it to be because the watch isn’t stopped for every single stoppage in play. Therefore the 45+? Or 90+? Are really after the final attacking threat when time is reached.

Yeah, for that English ref to blow for time a split second before a Brazil player headed the ball in to goal from a corner was ridiculous. Anybody else would have waited until either a goal was scored or the ball was cleared.

The frustration was there for all to see. Been there, done that. He’s probably tired of seeing all the players that they were building a good team around being sold off. He’ll be the first one out of the club in Summer.
