John Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Deary me… When quizzed about pressure on his role, the Blackburn Rovers head coach gave a prickly response to BBC Radio Lancashire. "Listen, can we speak about the game tomorrow, or I'll stop now. I can see everything, I can read everything. “No, I don't admit the squad is not as good as last season. It's a stupid analysis," Ismael said when asked if the squad had regressed in terms of quality. 1 Quote
Backroom DE. Posted 4 hours ago Author Backroom Posted 4 hours ago This time last season we were 6th, Val. Hadn't lost at home yet. If the squad is not worse this season, then where do we place the blame? Oh. Stupid analysis indeed. 6 Quote
roversfan99 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Hes rattled, everyone (bar chaddy) wants him gone, hes spouting shit in the (already diluted) media to neither expose his own shortcomings or those above him. But he neednt be. Hes safe as houses because hes at a club whose issues are those who own and run it who will accept such poor standards. 5 Quote

It's one or the other. 2 Quote

Think I saw something in Jackson's latest LT article before the pay wall kicked in that we are ELEVEN points worse off than we were at the same stage last season under Eustace. So it's both. Yes the squad's weaker but the Head Coach is infinitely worse as well. 3 Quote

Does this remind you of the behaviour of anyone on the other side of the Atlantic (and his counterparts here)? BBC Radio Lancashire looks like its's going to be joining the LET in the Ewood naughty corner soon 2 Quote

Time to go Val "At the moment the performance is consistent" Too bloody right we lose every week. "We dont have enough points as we expected. We should have more WHICH IS A GOOD FEELING." Guy's delusional. Possibly thinks he's bulletproof but the bit about the development aspect is probably for the owners in case they're wondering why we're sat 2nd bottom. 2 Quote

Time to go Val We didn't lose any quality is an unbelievable statement. So all the players let go in the summer we're rubbish is what he is saying. 2 Quote

Mattyblue Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago He isn’t delusional at all. He won’t believe it for a minute but this is how he is protecting his position with Suh-stede. Quote
arbitro Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago The man is a walking, talking egomaniac. He is responsible for results and questions around why results have bombed should be answered. He just doesn't want to be challenged at all just like Gestede and Pasha. 6 Quote

John Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago No admission at all that we keep conceding goals and we have no chance of getting any points once we have one goal down. Whatever happened to any accountability for anything? Can see why him and Gestede have got each others back. Totally delusional comments on not losing any quality in the summer. 4 Quote

Sorry, not the intention, but it's the same thing I suppose it's not new - Fergie banned reporters all the time if he didn't like difficult or what he felt were unfair questions but the difference is after he had calmed down he always rang them up, apologised, and relations carried as normal - until the next bust-up of course The point I was trying to make is the Ewood hierarchy seems so sensitive to any sort of criticism that it wouldn't be a surprise if Radio Lancs receives a similar ban to the LET. Presumably Ismael only has to say the word and the brains trust above him will act. This lot don't think - how can alienating the local media help keep fans onside when the club in its current predicament needs every friend and supporter it can get? Quote
Polky Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Appreciate the audio has been uploaded, but visuals don’t look better. Looks fed up with the reasonable questioning. 2 Quote

StHelensRover Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago He hasn't earned the right to look so pissed off with the line of questioning. When you take a team from 6th place to bottom of the league in record time while showing half the squad out the door, you don't get to start telling journalists what questions you want to answer. 4 1 Quote

Ferguson was notorious for it of course and journalists tended to regard it as a badge of honour if Ferguson had given them their marching orders. Difference was, Ferguson was winning everything in sight. You can get away with a lot when that's happening. Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I thought he wanted to keep most of the players that have left. Any other club and a loss tomorrow would equal the bullet. At Rovers normal rules don’t apply. Quote
