This guy would be class btw

Β

Worst account on Twitter.

Just makes up a load of names and pretends we are "interested".

Not a clue him.

Very limited times. Was absolutely horrific for half a season, then had maybe a month where he was good and got most of his very limited goal return, then dropped back off and looked poor again.

Yes I would say a decent Championship player. Good value signing, nothing special.

Gueye is a big lump who we have to totally change our style to get anything out of. And when he was coming on as a sub which would make him a plan B towards the end of the season, his body language was really poor and he may aswell have not come on.

If 6 is a decent return for a striker then my standards must be too high.

What was our style of play when Ohashi was upfront? Watch the ball come back at us time and time again?

We had the balance right at the start of the season - start the games with Gueye and then bring Ohashi on as a sub on 70 minutes when the defenders were tired.

We won 6 of the 23 games he started and 13 of the 23 he didnt.

With Ismael all of his good results at the end of the season came when he benched Gueye and used him sparingly. He clearly didnt fancy him.

Ohashi is worth his place but shouldn't lead the line---not strong enough. Benefits from having the big bloke up with him imo and his passing and crossing can assist Gueye to grab a few.

I've genuinely no idea why fans don't like Gueye. He was our best player at times last season and completely unplayable for defenders.Β

Most fans love him! His form is inconsistent but he does terrify defences and doe defend well. Puts his head where some wouldn't put their foot!

I would persevere with him, could we sign better with our budget?

He is a likeable character but we fare far better without him starting, he doesnt offer much goal threat which as a striker isnt ideal and even when he came off the bench, his body language and standard of performance left a lot to be desired.

Gueye is the perfect design for an impact sub. Unfortunately, he seemed to be at his best when he had a run in the team, not coming on here and there.

Gallagher could have sat it out for another 12 months and made more money, i'd like to think he was thinking of the club when he went for a fee.

Scored twice as many League goals in his first season over here as Gallagher did in his last though. Who you liked.

Think the reality is neither Ohashi or Gueye are really good enough in isolation but both proved relatively good value at around Β£250k and Β£1m respectively. Decent strikers cost decent money which we wont pay. We might get a reasonable combined return out of the two of them again if used judiciously.

I do fear for Gueye, he looks like a confidence type of player who needs an arm round the shoulder but it wouldn't appear that Ismael rates him. Both have however performed far more creditably thus far than the assorted dross we've had over recent years like Gallagher, Hirst, Telalovic and Ennis.

A big lump who is one of the poorest headers of a ball that I can remember.

I didnt rate Gallagher. I thought in general he was a below average Championship striker. However he seems to have done something to you personally as you probably have criticised him more than you have Venkys and you lost all semblance of balance when discussing him.

A typical Gallagher season here saw him score 8 or 9 goals, which we all thought needed an improvement upon. His last season saw him constantly getting injured so it wasnt an average season for him.Β  Equally, he doesnt deserve being put in a lineup with dross that never scored a single goal here nor some of the rubbish youve put in the past about him being the worst striker weve ever had.

Ohashi and Gueye IMO cant be put in the same category in terms of value. Ohashi was a small 6 figure fee and scored a reasonable and respectable goals tally (similar to a standard Gallagher season ironically) and did miss a couple of months. He isnt a standout Championship striker but hes a very useful one especially for such a low price and our results have been far better with him in the side as opposed to Gueye.

When Gueye scored at Sheff Wednesday away and then got those 2 at West Brom it felt like his confidence had gone up and he could kick on, especially as Ohashi was unavailable meaning he could have a run of games. Unfortunately those contributions proved to be the exception to the rule and he didnt kick on which led to him being dropped again.

To counter that, I think he wins almost everything. Including a few times when we were defending a lead at home he was the best at heading it clear and did it numerous times.Β

Β

People are way too overly critical of him IMO... We've hardly ever played to his strengths.Β

Personally think Gueye is really good if utilised correctly.

Wins everything, finishing not great granted, puts in a shift.

Got a hell of a lot of assists.

The comparison to Gallagher is mental to me, different levels.

If we can get him into positions where he can get on the end of Brittain's crosses, he would be lethal. As others have alluded to, he's showing a lot more than Gallagher ever did for us.Β

Easy enough to resolve, fire Ismael.

I think he's Plan A. A 6'5" aggressive, athletic CF who wins the vast majority of contested balls and brings others into play.

You build around that and let the others (Cantwell, Winger, Winger) start taking over the game.Β
