The club has signed three guys. Based on need, Iโ€™d say theyโ€™re doing what they can.ย

Honestly, the griping, & constant negativity gets old.ย

Irrespective of whether the three signings are up to the required standard, would you not agree they're in areas where weย  were already relatively well stocked?

(Assuming no-one leaves)

O'Rourke is miles off it recently.

We probably have an interest, but no way do I believe that talks are "advanced".

Yep. O'Rourke was pretty much gospel a few years ago but he's less reliable than Nixon these days.

Yeah over 15-20 yards decently pacy... Anything other and he drops off.. hence the burst๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

I disagree, being small he has a good change of direction, but in my opinion he hasn't got pace, be it in a burst or any other form.

Really expected some loans and frees lined up once the window opened but not a peep on anything of the sort.

It has been an exciting summer though.

Just not at Ewood.

Something doesn't add up with McLoughlin... Hull are under an embargo so need to keep every player they can because they can't replace them.ย

It's long standing interest allegedly we'veย enquiredย about him before so it's either we are waiting for desperation from Hull/the player (like when they got Hyam) or it's just the usual lazy journalism.

Yeah if he was even a yard quicker he would be dangerous, but he gets forced inside all the time.

His bulking up a couple of seasons ago was a mistake imo as it obviously slowed him down, when he already wasnt quick by Championship standards.

Kargbo has pace so maybe has a higher "ceiling" as the pundits like to say.

Good morning this is Suhail Pasha calling, we are interested in your player but won't pay anything near your current asking price. Please let us know if nobody takes him and you still want rid, even if it's in 12 months time, where we will offer one third of what you are asking now. Please be aware though we won't be offering to pay him what you do so he might turn us down anyway'

Bye.

Salford City and Marine FC have also signed 3 guys, so that isn't really the point. If that's enough to keep you happy given the bigger picture then it does seem fairly shortsighted.

I'm not saying this is you but the happy-clapping through leadership negligence, watching former players, current players, former managers, longstanding staff members, facilities and an entire women's team suffer at the hands of terrible ownership and a disingenuous board and accepting that is also very, very boring and wrong.

There are some major problems at the club currently, one is no CEO and another is no one you would trust to identify and appoint a competent one.

It currently isn't sustainable, there is an ownership issue, there is a board issue, major mistakes are being made... and it can't be ignored by everyone.

The most positive way to look at this upcoming season for Vi is when the goal is to develop the youth and stay in the championship, Sheffield Wednesdayโ€™s not paying their players and Hulls not paying their transfer feesโ€ฆ.so presumably staying up should be easier than most years.ย

Those 2 teams may well be our saving grace this season given their transfer bans.ย

However, the 3 promoted teams look stronger than their equivalents in most other seasons, so unless the transfers team bring in a lot more Ohashi's than Telalovic' s, (without our owners selling off too much more of the family silver to keep the lights on) we are still looking for at least one more team to have a terrible seasonย

Don't tell Gestede and Suhail or they'll really take their foot off the gas if they think we're basically safe already.

Itโ€™s as well the championship doesnโ€™t be played out on paper then. Not many if any would have had Luton relegated last season and us and Millwall fighting for 6th

Scrabbling round trying to sign a champ centre back.ย  Losing Batth looks more stupid by the day.ย

If they replace him with the guy from Hull and don't sell another of the centre backs then we might be able to finally argue there was some sense in it.

Until then though.....

Is the guy grom Hull any better?ย  Clearly wasn't first choice, will cost a fee and likely to be a similar wage to Batth anyway.

Is he quicker than Batth?

I suspect Batth was going to struggle in Ismael's system. He was fantastic under Eustace, but was very protected.

mclaughlin is a good solid centre back who`d be a good signing, however, when he hears the wage we offer him,he`ll decide to stay in hull

Played 39 games last season.... 6 years younger than Batth. I prefer the guy from Hull.ย
