Would have loved to have seen those, two together..Β  Dunn, Duff, Flitcroft, Gillespie, Tugay, Berkavoic... That's a midfield capable of challenging the very best!!

The signings certainly point to this type of set up. Especially when you consider the profile of the fullbacks. On the left side we have two solid β€˜stay at home’ type full backs, so a De Neve, more defensive LwB makes sense.

Meanwhile, on the right, both Alebiosu and seemingly Miller will bomb forwards and create the width meaning the Right sided attacker can invert and create an overload in between the lines.

Having listened to Elliot’s podcast this morning, he tipped Tavares to be the signing of the season based on what he had seen briefly in Spain. Also confirmed fee was 1.5-2m. Thinking about that, I do think Baradji is being lined up as Trav’s replacement. We’ll finish up with Sonny, Tavares, Baradji, Montgomery and Forshaw for those two positions.

LT saying we likely won't be signing Baradji now

Specifically states "move from Axel Henriksson will put the brakes on any deal for Moussa Baradji, at least for now."

"unless Rovers were to sell Mafoumbi, a deal for Baradji or any other player that doesn’t hit the GBE criteria is off the table."

Β

Which is exactly what we were saying on here yesterday

yeh agreed I’m not talking specifically Scottish league players to championship because there are a number but i was thinking more us buying players from there hasn’t traditionally good for us but Eyal was qualityΒ

Tugay and Colin Hendry weren't bad.

I don’t agree with Elliot’s assertion that Toth will be able to use the β€˜playing minutes’ method of converting to a non ESC player.

This part of the regulation is below, to me the crucial words are β€˜within the twelve months following the date on which he was granted a GBE’:

So 6 midfielders (only Dunny and Flitcroft with a tackle in them) and 2 forwards.Β

2 spaces left for defenders - now that would be entertaining and make the JDT era look very cautious!!

Chris Samba and nelsen would get the defence sorted

Agree. I think out of the signings so far, he has the least potential.Β  Poor man's Hedges πŸ˜‚

He's quicker than Hedges and has already scored a goal.

Hedges wouldn't have been in the frame for that Everton tap in.

I'm hoping he does really well and nobody can get him out of the team.Β

I think we’re keeping the Baradji deal warm to do if / when Trav goes. Mafoumbi is probably being hawked out to possible suitors to clear up that ESC spot.

One thing that was interesting in the podcast was that Elliott suggested they might be building towards a marquee type signing in that forward / RW spot. He claimed it was his ideal scenario but I got the impression it may have been spoken about.

We won't be signing him for now. In other words, we've spent the Brittain money on Miller and Henriksson so we now need another sale before we can bring in Baradji or any further additions. I.e we're skint.

This just isn't going to happen, those days are long gone.

I remember thinking wtf are we buying tugay when we should have bought BerkovicΒ

Bravery comes in different forms out on the pitch. You wouldn’t see Berkovic flying in to a tackle but he’d always show for the ball no matter how closely he was being marked.

Despite having one of the richest owners in the Championship.

I strongly suspect we'll be linked with a marquee type signing before the close of the window just to appease the fans and to appear like there's some kind of ambition at the club. Of course, we won't sign them and never will have intended to. If it does get anywhere near a done deal then the paperwork will be left in drafts again 'accidentally'.Β

Hmmm…in fairness, the Cantwell signing was a similar ilk. Let’s see.

RamsNews, who is self described as "reliable", is doubling down on Trav to Derby, claims personal terms are agreed.

He said the same about Brittain
