The only ones that matter are those listed at Companies House for The Blackburn Rovers Football and Athletic Limited and it is shown we have 4 active directors (see below).

This should be simple but essential governance and the penalties for providing inaccurate information range from financial penalties to more serious actions like disqualification and even criminal prosecution.Β  It is typically the role of the Company Secretary - just wtf does our do (does he still work from home in Brighton?)

I appreciate that, I was just pointing out that β€˜director’ can mean different things to different people/organisations.Β

read the Rovers Fans Forum minutes and that what is said.Β

from the Rovers minutes

"DM asked who was running the club in the absence of the CEO and accountable as it was noted Steve Waggott was still listed as a Director at Companies house. SS confirmed that at the moment Steve Waggott was still officially a club employee, whilst the other members of the board carry full accountability."

Β

So let's just clarify that point:

Other than Waggott who is seemingly on gardening leave, we have 3 other Board Directors who "carry full accountability":

  • Rob CoarΒ
  • Babu (resident in India)
  • Screenivas RaoΒ (resident in India)

Is this not one extraordinary p1ss take!?!?!?

Yes it can.

Individuals and roles are often designated 'director', however, they are not designated 'Board Director' nor do they sit on 'the Board'.Β  Jackson refers to a 'Board decision' and if Coar, Babu and Screenivas Rao made that decision then I will streak around the area where I live tonight!!!!Β

It does have the feel of an extraordinarily long running practical joke at our expense

I almost expect the ghost of Jeremy Beadle to walk around the corner in a policeman's outfit at any moment

Travis going and now probably Hyam

Β What a shambles!

Is this just coming from him not playing today?

Great input overall, but I'm not sure that last point is entirely correct. Tavares appears to be quite a shrewd signing from what most have said; likewise Miller, who not only looks to have all boxes ticked as a footballer for his position but also seems a great character for team morale. Henrikksen too seems to be competitive, have a good eye & seems an amiable chap.

Ohashi & Gueye likewise. In fact I think most of the incomings seem of the right character in context; are they Championship quality skills wise though? Time will tell, but Gestede is only being given peanuts to spend by the owners & Pasha so there is more risk than there should be given the money received in player sales recently.

Β

Cheers, my point was more in reference to quality rather than character, etc. I was trying to highlight the points he was making about the data being a factor in decision making and in most cases it being the one that holds the least weight.Β
Β

I personally don’t think Gueye is a championship player and I’m on the fence re Ohashi. I wouldn’t class miller in the same bracket as with the SPL being so accessible it’s like signing a player from the champ/league 1.Β

AFAIK Β Coar has been a constant throughout the chaos and decline of the. past 15 years. If he really cared about the club he would have resigned at some stage in protest. But he hasn’t, he’s never even made a public statement that I’m aware of, so the only conclusion must be is that he’s fully signed up to and supports the current regime

Very ignorant my end but is this defender West Brom have sold worth Β£10m?Β  Unless my head's in the sand I don't recall him standing out?Β

He was good last season, & played his part in a clean sheet last weekend

Prices are forever increasing..unless its Rovers doing the selling that is

Coar is 78 now and must have been involved with the club for over 40 years good times and bad. Maybe just finds it difficult to let go but at 78 you would have thought he would have had enough with the last 15 yearsΒ

I've always been of the impression that Coar's is a token role on the board. Perhaps a way to show there's a bridge between the old and the new, when there isn't. I assume he doesn't do anything really. Maybe appears whenever there's a meeting requiring unanimous consent once a blue moon and nods his head whilst someone passes him a cheque.

None of this to undermine your point, quite the opposite. I sense he has no convictions about us at all.

He's always needed his seat on the Board to maintain whatever status he has/had at the FA.

We'll literally be wheeling him out in a box.

Coar must have absolutely no pride, self respect or integrity.

..Or balls, or any actual influence, or anything other than a nominal role that involves doing what he is told in return for free hospitality at Rovers games (and what a fabulous incentive that must be these days).

Let's face it. The bridge is deserted, and we are the Marie Celeste of the footballing world.

Accounts to June 2024 showed directors total remuneration of Β£766k with the highest paid director (Waggott) accounting for Β£592k of that.Β  Leaves Β£174k shared between Coar, Babu and Screenivasa Rao - I wonder just how much Coar gets paid for doing, IMO, not a lot!?!?!?Β  Nice 'work' if you can get it!!!

What on earth is this club going to do in the summer of 2027 when 15 of the current squad will be out of contract.

Realise a couple will have the kick the can down the road 12 month options, but still.

If Pashaa is not a director & therefore his remuneration is not covered in those figures, I wonder just how much of the rest of our wage bill he takes up?

I wonder if the answer to that question may also showΒ  why our total wage bill remains fairly constant year on year despite repeated cuts to the playing staff

That would be a huge loss for me if it's a permanent move.Β  I've watched Duru come through the academy and into the under-21's over the past few seasons.Β  I view him as one of, if not the best young prospect we have in terms moving up to the first team.Β  It's a sad day when our best youngsters continue to be sold before they get a chance of first team football.

it says "loan"

However, if it is a loan with a view to a permient, , then it seems a bad deal
