I think I can allow myself a small non-controversial leak from Monday's Fans Forum.

The away shirt is planned to be launched on Friday. Rovers will wear it in Saturday's game as Everton have asked if they can use their home shirt, as it's so far the only one they have launched.

If that's the shirt I'd put it in with the others as being 'fine', an all yellow shirt with black piping isn't one to get the pulses racing for me. Contrasting arms, a couple of strips down the sides like the 92/93 3rd shirt would be much more interesting

Leak of new kit On twitter as well.

If that's right, that's absolutely horrible, reminds me more of a Burnley away kit from years gone by.

Burnt yellow and claret, what possible connection does that have to us?

No proper badge on this one either seemingly.

They've truly outcome themselves with the shitness of the kits this year. In a major anniversary year as well.

My first though on seeing the kit was: Wolves.

We should have told Everton to get lost and we could debuted the away kit in Spain, maybe even as a acknowledgement to those fans who've spent money or bodged existing holidays to go out there and see us we could have given them an exclusive pre-sale either in advance or on the day (if that's legal!).

Instead we'll have a different 'Blues' on our home patch whilst our iconic home kit, worn by us at Ewood for just the laat 135 years languishes in a draw somewhere in the dressing room.

Everton's lack of planning is not Rovers's concern, and we certainly shouldn't have made such an obvious concession to them accordingly.

Watch us forget to turn off Come On You Blues on the screen on Saturday...

Nothing to stop Everton playing in last seasons away kit.
Mind we still wouldn’t be playing in a proper Rovers shirt if we played in this seasons home kit

Jack Walkers legacy being well and truly upheld.

So our away kits are Macron's prototypes for Plymouth and Wolves.

All I can say is that its no wonder that Macron didnt get the contracts!

My assumption with kit suppliers is that there is some kind of tiering system. Access to new, bespoke designs would mean a bigger outlay from the club. Otherwise you get basic template designs and get to stick something on the collar and claim it's a "nod" to something.

Playing in a new strip to launch it at a friendly is contentious?

I think it would be easier to write a list of things that don’t annoy a few of you. I just don’t get the problem.

Yeah I don't mind us giving the away kit an airing on Saturday, we have done that in friendlies before. Remember playing in that Turquoise one against Stoke at Ewood in a friendly in 2014.

I'm also old enough to remember us playing in our away kit at home to Man City in 1993.

You wouldn't.

If it was our decision to debut our new away kit against Everton I wouldn't particularly agree with it but that would be ok.

We shouldn't be operating in a way solely to suit Everton though. If they have an issue with their kits,  tough titty, that's their problem not ours.

I see we're having an ugly away kit contest with the Toffees.

Is this not having a proper badge lark going to become a thing on the grounds of convenience and screwing even more profit out of a shirt.

Our marketing people get (rightly so) pelters sometimes but on this occasion I can see the logic. They go on sale on Saturday morning and there will be many, particularly kids who want to wear the replica shirt we are playing in (my granddaughter is one of them).

If this helps to shift a few more shirts on Saturday then I say well done.

I thought when I posted above that it was non-controversial as I said but clearly that's a rare thing on here. I thought it made sense too.

The post above about Everton's shirt seems to contradict what we were told though.

So two teams in their away kit then?

Brilliant!

I've no idea why the FF didn't object to this in the strongest possible terms. To me it seems obvious our "prestige" home friendly should be used to showcase OUR new home kit.

Sod Everton.

Non controversial? Really?

Seems like marketing 101 to me (not often you can say that about this lot).

A game on the day a new kit goes on sale, wear it. Who cares if we are at home, it’s. a. friendly.
