philipl Posted Saturday at 15:18 Posted Saturday at 15:18 10 subs have come on. Only the sub already on remains on. Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted Saturday at 15:20 Posted Saturday at 15:20 interested to see what val does with kargbo this season, bearing in mind he looks like he`s never made a tackle ever, could be a real weapon on the counter because he can`t half run Quote
roversfan99 Posted Saturday at 15:21 Posted Saturday at 15:21 That is one weak second team. First team isnt too strong either. Obviously you cant take anything much from pre season, especially from the first game. But I wonder if anything can be read into the selection, especially the non selection of the very few senior players on the bench. Will De Neve be ahead of Kargbo initially? No surprise to see Gueye and Buckley not starting. Also seems like Ribeiro is ahead of Pickering. Be interested to know what people thought of De Neve. Is he quick? Quote
Damien Posted Saturday at 15:21 Posted Saturday at 15:21 Was carter’s injury a bad one or is it precautionary? Quote
KentExile Posted Saturday at 15:22 Posted Saturday at 15:22 Looks like the trialist is a central midfielder, unless someone is playing where they normally dont Goddard Houghton Atcheson Wharton Pickering Buckley TRIALIST Mullarkey-Matthews Strich Kargbo Gueye Quote

neophox Posted Saturday at 15:28 Posted Saturday at 15:28 So no one know who the trialist is? Has to be an unknown youth player. Quote

It is worth noting that the U21s are also playing today, so it is possible that some of the other younger players are with them Litherland, Garrett, Batty, Powell, Leonard, Wood, Dunn, Edmondson, O'Grady-Macken from the players who have been training with the first team/on the bench over the past year or so * I am definitely not stating that we have wonderful strength in depth, just mentioning a few of the younger names who are missing Edited Saturday at 15:36 by KentExile Quote

So you've just named some of the greatest players of all time. And based on them being ready so young, if Tyjon is not yet ready, then what? Absolute nonsense. Even if he develops into a good Championship or even Premier League player, he has done well. You could name many other top historical players who also werent ready at this age. 3 Quote

He should play some games yes, but Jansen wasn’t playing for Carlisle in the bottom tier of the football league until he was turning 18. Ollie Watkins hardly made a senior appearance in league two until he was almost 20. There’s tons of quality players who just aren’t quite ready at 17. 1 Quote
