Is Sammie fit and expected reception from ewood fans if so?

Hope he's on the bench. Imagine the reception we'd give him when he first did a warm up run down the line!

It probably doesn't matter if they do or don't cover the pitch, if the water cannot drain away. I believe in the past the postponements have been caused by the water backing up due to its inability to drain into the river.

Im aware of the drainage problem and the fact that the only long term solution is to completely overhaul the system but I refuse to believe it wouldnt make a big difference in most cases if the majority of the water could be kept off the pitch until just before kick off and and there was only a couple of hours precipitation to worry about!

Of course. Rovers lose and you win and Rovers win you’re happy too.

Huge concern with Carter

So he can't  manage one game a week?  Utterly farcical.

Also makes the Hyam sale look ridiculous without a replacement.

Well let's see how Miller does play centre half today.

Whether he covers well or not. Dont be fooled, he was signed as a right back, and its not 6 games in that it will cause us these issues, its as the games go on.

And the bastards knew this!

Gestede, who is not a bully ( lol...in case you're reading) and the Trumpian Shadow Man are just not fit to run the club.

I’ll be setting off shortly. Let’s hope the pitch holds up. That’s a bit of a worry about Carter. I can’t see it being anything other than a fitness issue, you wouldn’t drop him to play Miller under normal circumstances.

Or you're trying to keep Miller happy.

Big (for us) summer signing, an Australian international, and he's relegated to the bench for the first 6 weeks because Alebiosu has been a revelation.

Seems Miller for Carter the only change apparently, guess we'll see how good he is as it'll be a stern test..

Gudjohnsen for Ohashi is the easy change, but they seem hesitant to bench Ohashi for some reason.

Miller in a two scares me. I'd be tempted to play a back three to try and mitigate it.

Toth

Miller Wharton Pickering

Alebiosu Tavares Tronstad Ribeiro

Morishita Ohashi Cantwell

Something like that

Have you seen a lot of Miller?

For me you just simply can't afford to lose ohashis work rate

I'm told Carter injured a hamstring in training on Thursday.

I rate him but his unreliability should force their hand into bringing an experienced centre half in.

Surely his match performances is what really counts here? Perform well he is good signing.

Agree Chaddy. Lucas Neill was a hit headed Aussie signed as a right back, became a very solid centre back. It'll be luck rather than judgement if Miller can be a long term option, but might be capable

Im not on about whether Miller will be a good signing.

Im talking about the negligence shown in letting Hyam go and leaving us with only one natural right footed centre back, and one whose body simply cannot be relied on at Championship level. One game and its already broken down.

It will cost us being so short as the season goes on.

Ipswich will have done their homework on the 11 that started against Watford. Mix it up a bit, and confuse them. I'd start with Gudjohnssen, give him more time to get of the mark, then introduce Ohashi.

He wasnt a centre back here though.

But either way, even if he does turn (luck rather than judgement as you say) into a Championship capable centre back. We are still short not only there but also then at right back.

Yes - I think youd get good odds that Wharton and Carter between them wont play as many games as Hyam did last season.

We could end up like a few years ago under Mowbray where we were forced to play 343 with full backs as wide cbs to get to a full XI. Im sure we will see a lot of Pickering/Riberio/Alebiouso playing wide cbs when we are in the midst of 3 games a week.

If it works fine as we have enough options in that setup. But if it does why isnt it our preferred lineup now?

Yes he was by time he left and at end of 05/06 season started there in the world cup.

Agree squad depth poor,  but that's not relevant to if he can play centre half.

That's Rudys fault for letting hyam go.
