Cannot believe the amateur brains that continue to plague this club. In fairness we really can't just not fix the drainage issue. It has been costing us points, embarrassment and may result in fines or point deductions if it keeps happening. The problem, as ever, is the owners who really should be paying for both the pitch improvements and some players to prevent relegation. Quote

Rovers are expected to bolster their squad in the New Year after a spate of injuries and a change in formation. Ismael is anticipating incomings and outgoings as he continues to evolve his Blackburn squad. Targets have been identified and Ismael wants to see action quickly when January 1 rolls around. Given Rovers' recent record in the January window, they will need a dramatic improvement to sufficiently better their team. "Oh, yes," Ismael said immediately when asked if the club must act quickly. "We spoke already with the board, as I said, as quickly as possible. Because the longer we are waiting, the more problems we will get. Every game counts in January. "We need a new face. We need to refresh. We need to adjust the squad to adapt to the shape we play." "lus the new issue with Ryan (Alebiosu to AFCON). It adds a little bit more pressure on everything. But we have to be really good, really fast. "The earlier the players come in, the better it will be for us." "Yes, we have already got the list identified. So now it's not out of my control. We did our job now," he added. "For sure, it's clear that we need players. We will get some players and the best is to get them ideally on the 1st of January. "I know that it's always difficult. But I would say the week after is the game against Hull City in the FA Cup. I think we can use that game to integrate all the new players." Rovers have 24 players registered and so new additions will inevitably lead to departures. However, it is evident certain players aren't a fit for Ismael's style of play. Makhtar Gueye will be an obvious player of speculation, considering the interest in him from Turkey in September. Harry Pickering has been short of game time too, though is an experienced member of the squad. Ismael says Rovers must be ruthless in their decision-making to ensure the squad is suitably equipped for an important second half of the season. "Listen, at some point, it's all about the performance. It's all about the squad. It's about the discipline we see on the pitch," he added. "As I said in our assessment, we have to be ruthless now and then to make sure that we know that we can perform. We know that we need all our players. "And at some point, we have to make some decisions. If something is not right and we are not happy, then we have to make a change. "We have to be ruthless with the squad as well to assess in January to make our decision when we have to act on the decision." Poor Val. You know when you have seen a movie so many times before and you know how it ends? That's the feeling here. Expecting multiple signings before the Hull game? Good luck with that one. If Val or anybody close to him was wondering why we dislike Pasha and this regime, he/they should have a fair idea by now. They will be in no doubt come Feb 1st. "This is the most challenging job I have had" "It's a deep problem, not from yesterday" I wish it was different, Val. As I said previously after JDT and Eustace walked, these people are not Blackburn Rovers. We do not claim them. 11 Quote

The phrase, "Piss up in a brewery" comes to mind when I reflect upon the competence of the behind the scenes management set up at Rovers...and not in a positive sense. The club is so zombie-like these days, it is almost as if we are being run by relatives of Shaun of the Dead, except that film has a happy ending. I guess SP and RG and to a certain extent VI know that we can see right through their lies, their subterfuge and their ineptitude, but for reasons that are still formally to come to light they just don't give a crap. I'd imagine any meaningful questions being put to any of the three stooges would result in Followed swiftly by a repeat of the famous John Lydon (Jonny Rotten) taunt... Quote

A few weeks ago they've all decided that the couple of million sitting in the budget earmarked for Jan or early summer - before the next budget is set - .is ok to go towards the pitch in summer. So off Suhail pops to India like the good little cost cutter he is and tells the owners 'we've got it covered,, we'll stay up with what we have then do the pitch' Brownie points all round, before disaster strikes. See you all in July. Edited Monday at 20:01 by Tomphil2 2 Quote
Torgeir Posted Monday at 20:31 Posted Monday at 20:31 We wasted a wage on Forshaw so I hope we’re not tempted into trying to sign a player like Beck who will spend more time on the treatment table than on the pitch. Should be a big summer clear-out no matter what happens this window. The fact that Gueye is still in the building tells me there aren’t many takers. Hope we can get rid of Pickering and Ribeiro as well, if we’ve decided to persist on the current system. Quote

Angry_Pirate Posted Monday at 20:52 Posted Monday at 20:52 Why is everyone so desperate to keep this current 3-5-2 (5-3-2) formation? It was employed first away to Coventry, and has been used for 17 games now. In that span we have won 5, drawn 6, and lost 6... That might well be 57pts over a season. But that is 1 win in 10 and 41pts season average since late November. It has been found out. Alebiosu can play in a 4 or 5, and between Pickering, De Never and Ribiero - the LWB options are horrid. We're playing 2x academy kids, calling loans back from L1, and being linked to below average CBs to feed bodies into a back 3 formation that is barely successful as is. If Miller cannot play in a 4, then so be it, he can be a reserve RB. Go find a player who can. Or rotate Carter, Wharton, McLaughlin, O'Riordan, Pratt, NEW signing. Starting with "wing backs" and two holding midfielders at home to Charlton Pathetic is embarrassing. No wonder we are in 20th with the 3rd lowest goals scored. This team needs proper attacking reinforcements, and a new idea. 5 1 Quote

Josh Bowler and Clearly would be decent. Two centre midfielders. Rothwell and Szmodics on loan would be brilliant. Then at least one quality striker if not two- Ohashi is nowhere near it for me. That's ignoring centre half- hopefully the young lads can keep it up. So for me 5 or 6 players of quality- think we're going down, dogshit side. I said Ohashi was shite last season & this season and got hammered for it 😂😂 Quote
