Hope to God that the option to buy isn't exercised. He's talentless. I just don't know how two clubs have apparently paid fees of at least £1m to sign him.

They've paid at least £1m because it is pocket change for the vast majority of teams in this league, it is the going rate for a squad player. At our club that figure is used to take a punt on somebody from a far flung league to be in our starting eleven, in the hope the fee will multiply ten fold.

We are the outlier.

Huge shout for the 2 young CBs.

O'Riordan & Atcheson look real good prospects. Kept hull at bay for 120 minutes with limited chances.

If we only we had some threat upfront.

Baradji never looks bothered or interested. Not the sort of player you want in a relegation scrap.

Dragged us back into the game in our last match

I can't complain too much i wanted a rest for everyone possible and wanted to see the squad men and youngsters given a good run.

Also couldn't give a stuff about the cup this season nor the thousands who only turn up for a big cup game, even if we are doing ok in the league. The money is also irrelevant this season as keeping Championship status and revenue is paramount.

Good also that this should see Toth regain his No1 status because the next few months are the last we will see of him.

Also at the end of the day we lost because we can't score penalties.

The main similarity is that we have zero attacking threat no matter what combination we put out currently.

Whoever would have thought that going into the season with just 2 strikers, one might get injured?

Well, we had three but one is now on his way to China after the manager chose not to play him, even when Gudjonsen got injured.

We didnt really have three because VI obviously made his mind up on Gueye very early on and there was talk of him being sold in the last window.

Ok, let’s rephrase it, we were paying three but the Manager didn’t fancy one of them !

Sorry but VI has to go for me. He’s been dealt a dreadful hand with players available,  but despite that you simply have to be getting shots on target in games as an absolute minimum! Hull were dreadful too despite being pretty much full strength.

Defensively looked ok, Cashin looks decent. After that it’s hard to pick positives. What the actual fuck are they doing in training?

Also what’s this set piece coach doing? After Preston away it was almost as it we had a new Arsenal like cheat code, today we had De Neve hitting corners for throw ins to hull. If you didn’t laugh you’d cry. How the hell is De Neve earning more than most people on here? Make it make fucking sense! I genuinely think I’d do a better job at 44.

The worry is that the weakened side is becoming indistinguishable from the not weakened side.

Hahah exactly!!

I had the great misfortune of attending today. Easily the worst match I've ever seen. Huge positives were the young defenders who looked top class up against experienced pros like Millar and McBurnie. Cashin was decent and Toth looked his usual calm self but didn't really have a great deal to do. Doherty did well and looks to have a bit of pace. Offensively we were clueless really. Could have played until midnight and not scored. Complete lack of any talent on the pitch was stark. Really depressing to see how far we have fallen. Baradji was a slight improvement when he came on but we still created nothing. Henriksson was really poor but did actually improve a little as the game went on. I thought the effort generally was really good but that almost makes it worse as I cannot see how they could do much more. They're just not good enough and we won't pay the wages needed to recruit the players we need.

To paraphrase a tv show about a nuclear melt down; not good, not terrible.

Defensively looked fine - Atcheson, O'Riordan, Pratt all look decent against a Hull side doing well in the league. Cashin looked ok too, effectively a clean sheet over 120. Toth the best keeper at the club and it's not even close.

Play without strikers, can't score a goal shocker. Henriksson isn't a forward, but a Henriksson Baradji midfield pairing looks more than serviceable. Can't help but feel that Baradji knows he won't be here next season one way or the other. Ohashi, for all his work rate, has really gone off the boil since we've lost Gudjonson - I'm not sure how well we can carry a striker who needs to play in a partnership when we are insistent on playing one up front.

Our formation in general has become a problem for me.

We switched to this three at the back because for whatever reason the formation we used last season wasn't working early doors, and it stuck because Alebiosu is very good and Hedges hit a run of form and that made it work well enough for a while. With Hedges out and particularly if Alebiosu gets sold we simply have to re-evaluate the formation, because not one of our other fullbacks suits it in the slightest, but Miller and Ribeiro are (relatively) fine further back. We narrowly missed the playoffs last year with a four at the back so I'm not sure why we are so allergic to it now, other than perhaps the lack of wingers.

Poor game in general. Green shoots but not enough of them.

Some interesting comments about Baradji, he definitely is a strange player to get a grasp on.

He does some things that make him a liability, really lazy and/or sloppy play, examples being giving the ball away needlessly in front of his own box today, once or twice v Wednesday he just gave up tracking back.

But equally, unlike most he actually has some ability and can make things happen. Obviously he got the 2 goals in the last game, he showed one bit of quality today on the counter, a really well timed pass through to Doherty who ended up wasting a really good chance. He also has the ability to do a turn and seems to pick up a bit of pace to power past people.

Definitely something to work with but not sure if he is fully trustworthy. Compare to Henriksson who is always looking at pelt and there are absolutely no glimmers of anything to work with in terms of ability, making him useless to us.

What intrigues me, if that is the word,  is why Tyjon is on the subs bench but doesn’t go on?  Especially when we needed imagination and new energy up front in extra time.

It is either financial or the club don’t want to risk an injury before he is sold. If Ishmael is being pissy with him then why is he a substitute at all?

Must be some football algorithm I am  blissfully unaware of.

The rumour mill going around is that we've signed Baradji on a permanent, or are close to doing.

Ismael claims he was going to come on in extra time but O’Riordan got tired.

Just watching Spanish Cup final between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

They are playing a game with which I am not familiar. 🔥🔥

I watched Nigeria v Algeria yesterday. It was like they were playing another sport entirely.
