We’ve had so many good players…

I imagine him and Tronstad would’ve done a job back then and now!

Well one of them would....... and did!

He has better players on higher wages. He should have taken us up but he never even made the play-offs.

That's rather irrelevant at the minute those days are long gone.

The odds would say we'll be likely looking at trying to bounce back from league 1 next season because they won't bring in a fire fighter short term.

Not aimed at you but it's bonkers how people are talking about things as if we are looking for a head coach with the aim being the play offs next season. We are a million miles away from that and need to be thinking what happens now and what happens if this lot do drop.

We're reminiscing aren't we about Tony's time here? So, ipso-facto those days have gone!

I certainly haven't mentioned play-offs and next season.

We might have a shot at the Div 1 playoffs I suppose......

Skubala is a good shout. In our predicament plucking the best from the league below is most realistic way to go

He has done a good job at Lincoln and if it my choice, he would be my first choice.

Maybe it’s the couple of pints after work but I watched the pre match for the weekend and I just think we’re in better hands already. Below is a snippet;

Tactically, there’s no way to know from the outset but he did talk about effort and endeavour, getting the crosses and creating chances - something VI never even mentioned, he couldn’t fit that around the complaints about fitness or referee decisions (remember his list?)

This isn’t advocating for DJ, I just loved hearing about how he sends his kids to local schools and talks about the working class values of the town. There won’t be any excuses, and that suits me.

I'd rather have him in charge than a lot of the names mentioned that's for sure.

He'll obviously be privy to the goings on behind the scenes though and would never agree to it full time.

Seen Barry Ferguson named a couple of times now and it’s actually not a bad idea. Took over a struggling Rangers side after Clement was sacked. At the time fans at war with the board. The kind of fiery manager who would demand 100% and can motivate the players. Cantwell would be benched and stripped of captaincy within a week.

How much do you think he was on at Chelsea?

He got a chance there after a good season with Leicester 2023. Before that pretty unknown.

What about Enzo Maresca? Out of our league or?

He was being talked about as the next City manager a couple of months ago.

No chance he'd come here.

Firstly, I given my opinion on who I would appoint if I was in charge of recruiting the next head coach appointment, sadly I am not in charge of it.

I respectfully disagree.

Whoever they get, assuming they don't just give the job to DJ (if he wants it of course), will be absolutely desperate for a chance to manage in the English Championship.

We're in a relegation shit fight with the second worst squad in the league. The club is run by some complete randomer who does everything possible to avoid any kind of attention and an ex player come tea boy who main talent is being an absolute cock womble.

They won't be paying anything remotely close to the going rate for a championship manager and to add on top of all that, the last three guys who've had the job have all left in February due to falling out with the people in charge over the complete lack of ambition at the club.
The two clowns in charge are so far out of their depth it's unreal. Waggot, for as much of a lying bastard as he was, at least had a small modicum of football nous. That's all gone now.

Am I missing something, or have all the bookies taken the Rovers next manager market down? BetVictor have for sure, but so have Oddschecker from what I can tell...

I don't do any gambling so I'm hopeless at this stuff.

I think we have a very poor wage structure but a very good bonus package. I imagine they are given a mediocre wage with a 7 figure bonus for promotion etc. which is what makes it enticing for fairly reputable managers i.e. JDT/JE/VI

He has done well to be fair, looks good.

However, the club won't pay for anyone who already has a job.

The last 15 years tell you this.

Even more amusing is that tweet about "GA", not a chance.

I think BetVictor were the only site offering a price anyway.

I wouldn't read too much into it.
