Robbo's been overstated due to the calamitous performances of Kean & Eastwood. While his distribution and shot-stopping cannot be faulted, he's hopeless at low shots from distance and suspect in the air. I wouldn't call it a priority position in the summer, because if money's tight we have more immediate concerns, but if we had the opportunity to sell Robbo and bring in someone like Keiren Westwood, then we should take it.

Westwood might be a good call actually. Not sure what his form is like now, but he was pretty impressive at Coventry in this division before he went on a Bosman, and I can't imagine he'd cost much in fees/wages.

Perhaps we can put Kean on loan to see if he can rcover that early promise, sell Robinson to Cardiff if Marshall goes and then get Westwood.

Talking of Sunderland keepers, what happened to Craig Gordon?

Too many injuries and £ at a young age!

I personally would stick with Robbo. It's not like we are going to have much of a choice either if he is truly on 35k a year with one left.

His distribution is critical when you have a player like Gestede, I also think he has looked a bit dodgy since returning, but don't forget the guy nearly died from a blood clot! Warfarin is no joke, and some people never recover from the side effects of that kind of illness.

A whole pre-season might be the answer for Robbo - but if we are discussing potentially bringing a keeper in I'd go with bringing Bunny back or even Brad if he fancies a swan song. Even if Big Brad isn't the same player, the confidence that he exudes and the effect that will have on the crowd will make a big difference - and I'm sure his experience and respect for the place can only help Eastwood and Kean develop.

Really? I would say of anywhere on the pitch keeper is where we are weakest. Top priority for me. What else is more important? While I think the defence could be improved a lot of the issues stem from a lack of reliable keeping behind.

Another Cardiff player is strongly rumoured to be coming in the summer according to a friend who works for them.

The only player i would (realistically) like to see come in from Cardiff is Hudson. Someone of his experience would be vital for us. Can't say I rate Cowie that highly.

I went on a Fulham message board, a lot of them are wanting their owner to put his hand in his pocket for Rhodes. Wouldn't surprise me to see them come in for him to be honest.

One of my concerns is the fitness levels of cairney and Evans. Yes they are talented player's but they are effective for around 60 -70 mins, and I think a lot of the problem is down to playing 442 against teams that play 5 in midfield.

Imo a midfield of King, Cairney, Evans, Conway and Lowe would see us dominate in this vital area of the pitch. But that causes issues up front or at the back, 4231 is good but it would probably mean dropping a forward, and GB would get slaughtered if he dropped the weaker one. Or, 352 with Hanley Kilgallon and possibly spurr at the back, but we let goals in for fun at the moment with four at the back.

To sum up, I don't think we have the players to line up 442.

Well, I think we absolutely do have exactly the right players for 451. You could take any out of Lowe, Cairney, Marshall, Evans, Conway, Dunn and King and they would all fit into a 5 man midfield very well. Then you have Gestede who is the perfect lone front man. The issue is Rhodes. He can't fit into 451, so you would have to drop him. Unfortunately he cannot be dropped.

Stuart Holden is an interesting named that's mentioned. He got hurt again and his health has been a huge question mark. But if we could get him on a decent salary he could be worth the risk. Before his injuries he was a very solid PL midfielder and a starter on the USMNT. Also needs to prove himself and if he gets fit and can stay healthy, he'd provide us with a leader on the pitch and a solid investment. MLS loves American national team players and we could sell him to an MLS club at in inflated price.

I agree with you. It's the most important position on the pitch, nobody can lose you a game quicker than your goalkeeper.

Not for me, he used to be a very good player but injuries have taken their toll. Too much of a risk.

We need a new left-back, right-back, at least another striker, and reinforcements in centre midfield & defence.

It's no coincidence that Robbo's return to action has coincided with our long unbeaten run. His weaknesses are well documented but at least one of them could be minimized if we defended tighter and didn't allow the opposition all these free shots from range.

Not certain about the need for a new left back - surely right back is a more pressing concern ? Centre midfield - I think we will struggle to bring in better players than we already have (unless the owners are willling to put their hands in their pockets). Of the team from Saturday - who would you change (not a dig - just something I have pondered myself) - we possibly need a more dominant centre half - and definitely a specialist right back - but again finances must be tight and GB won't keep pulling rabbits out of the hat like he has with Conway, Gestede etc.

Re Robinson - I have mixed feelings - his experience has helped - but he has let in some poor goals in our unbeaten run. I wouldn't pay him off - but similarly wouldn't be disappointed if we could off-load his wages and bring in a cheaper replacement (Bunn would be a good call if we can get him on a free).

Olsson's out of contract, and is he worth keeping? That only leaves us with Spurr.

Only takes a knock to Evans and we'll be back to the Willowe masterclass. It's a long old season and we need some more quality in the midfield of the park.

Linked with Cardiff right back John Brayford in today's Daily Mirror. Would be a good signing and one I could see happening. Also wouldn't be surprised if re-ignited our interest in Don Cowie from Cardiff as well. He's available on a free transfer and a very good championship player.

Are you an agent ? lol

That's a massive no from me. Good player but we don't want any crocs, we became a home for over aged injury carrying shot players under Kean with certain agents finding a home and contract for players no one else in football would touch. We are still carrying some and probably still paying others who've gone. Fit, fresh talent only please although we'll excuse Robbo and Dunny :)

^LOL. I wish I was an agent! But wouldn't want to be his.

I acknowledge the risk and I'm not sure that we are in a place to make such a risk. I like our young players at CM. But he's only 28 so if he can stay healthy, he still has a lot of soccer left. He'll also hopefully be in the USMNT picture in the next cycle (though as a role player). He'll be out for at least the first half of the season. Maybe an option down the road, but he'd be the vintage buy low, sell high type of player. He's one I'd like to at least keep an eye on.

Ok guys I don't get to see Rovers play much so please give me feedback here. I'm trying my best to stay in the loop.

Would we definitely be looking to offload Best, Campbell, Etuhu and Goodwillie?

Do we have any idea who we might sign, have we been linked to anybody?

The young defenders we have on loan Keane and Kane, I think Keane is definitely worth trying to get on loan again but what do you all think about Kane? Right now Keane is probably good enough to sit on the United bench.

We also got Feeney, Dabo and Varney on loan. What are everyones thoughts on them? I'm assuming we won't try to get them back again.

Who do we sign as keeper? Robbo probably our best keeper but not promotion quality maybe, a younger more reliable keeper would be good.

Yeah I can see your idea so maybe a loan with option to buy would be worth a punt. But, and there's always a but, he a very popular Wanderer as far as I can gather and appears to love the club and going off past history some players coming from there to us never seem to settle or work out. To them we are huge illustrious rivals you see :)

It'll be difficult to shift Best, Campbell etc because of their ridiculous wages so they'll prob be loaned out again quite rightly. Keane I'd try and get on a season long loan but Kane I'd say thanks and goodbye. Feeney may be ok as very cheap back up but Varney I'm sure we could do better. They gave Eastwood a new contract so it'll prob be still Robbo as no1 with him as no2, god help us if they replace Robbo with him !
