Blackburn Rovers Women
Mattyblue replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Come on Rev, don’t start slipping back into your old ways now. Occam’s Razor. There is no pro women’s team here because the owners don’t want to fund a pro women’s team. -

Oh boo hoo. One of their longest PL stretches in decades, team full of internationals, 60,000 gates every week and recently won a European trophy 🎻 -

I suppose from the regime’s perspective he has been an excellent appointment. -

I’m asking if he still thinks he’s an ‘excellent appointment’ like he said last year, if that’s ok with you? -

A Sky game when we’ve struggled to sell 9,000 STs, with a relatively small away following too at £30-£35 (£32 to £37 in the ticket office) a pop. I doubt it will be any higher than a standard Saturday game, I.e vast swathes of empty seats. Well done all. 👏 -

Fifteen years and they still don’t have a clue about the fanbase. It’s on TV, at half 12, so Derby won’t be fetching many, so no sizeable away support to fleece (the usual reason for Cat A) and why would our fans go out their way at those prices to just see a one off kit and Kevin Gallacher et al wandering round the pitch at 12.15? The only chance of a semi decent crowd was a ticket promotion. Hey ho, another embarrassing afternoon incoming. -
Getting the band back together. Ben Marshall as events planner? Jason Lowe as ‘covering every blade of grass’ coach?

Forget about one off boycotts and all that, won’t happen here. What will happen is gates will continue to drop year on year as we fall down the leagues. Thats your protest right there - but this lot do not care one iota. They’ll just shut the ‘unviable’ academy, the ‘not fit for purpose’ training ground, the ‘surplus’ Riverside and on and on. -
This club, gone from letting every fecker walk for nowt to selling the lot… how about some middle ground, like, you know, trying to actually get one of them to sign a deal, novel idea, obviously.

Makes perfect sense to me. Rudy is ‘the club’ as he works there. Travis, JE left it, so are no longer the club. The Club must be defended at all costs. Classic tribal loyalty… endearing in a way, unfortunately these fans have never remembered the famous Bobby Robson quote that ‘WE, the fans’ are the club, its gatekeepers. Just because individuals, could be nefarious individuals, could be incompetent ones, happen to wear club ties they get full throated support. -
The injuries will be the only thing to stop the big move.

Championship Season 25-26
Mattyblue replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I’ll be fair to Chaddy. I presume he thinks these owners should be doing far more (and I don’t just mean sponsorship deals) to provide a competitive budget that will see us at the top end of the league. But they don’t and this is the budget the likes of Gestede have to work with, not that he’s actually happy with this budget. -

I’ll take your word on that as generally I ignore manager interviews, I made an exception for JDT as his charisma and intelligence shone through. -

Hasn’t the league position always been irrelevant under these owners? Difference being some managers still railed against that, as well, after all it’s supposed be to competitive first team football with a place in the Premier League at stake, not ‘development football’… however they seem to have a pliant one this time. -

Home fan turnout c1,000 down on what we had for the second home game of last season. -
Don’t worry about it! But then there’s the issue with TM, he ends up getting played like a fiddle by very disingenuous people.
-
You don’t know my ‘standards’ one iota, Parson, so less of that please. I’m talking about a good bloke but ultimately a very naive one, he took those people at their self-proclaimed ‘humble’ and ‘honourable’ word but they showed by their actions at the end of his reign when he shuffled off none the wiser if he was actually staying or going after five years of very public support to them what ‘standards’ and ‘honour’ they really operate to.
