  1. I definitely read somewhere that Newcastle will get 30% of a future transfer fee. Could be wrong of course.
  2. Looks like he's going to bat through as well since Anderson is padded up!
  3. England now 401 up for the loss of 6 wickets. Very slow progress.
  4. A young Danny Graham would be good. There'd be plenty of talent around him.
  5. The wording on his gravestone should read "Six points short".
  6. I doubt we'll get another pie that big but astute managers have been promoted on less.
  7. Overlooking the fact that we paid £12M for two of them! To be a real Top 6 threat, as opposed to occasionally threatening it, we need a new manager.
  8. We need (have always needed) a 6ft+ nasty bastard with elbows, who can give the centre-backs a hard time, shoot, score with his head and can knock it down for Armstrong to do the business. That also means width and deep crosses from the wings, a winger also provides an outlet for the defence as opposed to banging it up the centre from where it returns. Its bloody basic!
  9. Its as if we knew it would happen! 😂
  10. Well that's the point, we've lost wickets. tail-enders in and not scoring. Seems a waste of time to me. We still have to get them out twice. Remember Australia trying and failing? A lot of talent in this Indian batting line-up. And character.
  11. Can't understand why England are batting on. Surely they should bowl a few overs at the end of 2 exhausting and demoralising days for the Indians?
  12. You'd leave Elliott out?----best player on the pitch, better than Dolan, Dack or Rothwell.
  13. I don't see why they should get special treatment! 😛
  14. Forgot him! Results meant nothing back then and they don't seem to matter much now but I concede the point.
  15. TM is unique though---no manager has ever been less accountable for results than this bloke.
  16. Going with the Pink Floyd analogy, couldn't Tony's tenure be compared to the "Endless River"?
  17. He's a reasonable collector of ingredients but a rotten cook. He he can't put the ingredients together and has consistently neglected the base of the cake.
  18. Yes but he's not a loan is he?
  19. Scott Dann was better than Taylor and I was sad we let him go but he wasn't as good as Jones or Tosin imo.
  20. Agree. Its frustrating for the younger players. Every time we sign a loanee they slip that farther back. Eg Wharton, he went on loan after loan, and from memory was about to go on loan again but we had run out of players and we had no choice but to play him. Result?---he excelled! Its OK to sign 4 or 5 Premier League players we could not afford to buy, to get us up. But when we don't go up season after season and face a big turnover at the end of the season, then bring a new set of loanees in, you have to question it. It doesn't help that we have so many crocks in our squad.
