jim mk2 Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 We do need a leader at the back but the main problem is the gap between Rhodes and the midfield. Dann is our leader at the back; thought he had a fine game.
ada2020 Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Spot-on. We need to let the lad know what he's done for us. Some lily livered fans will point out that all he did was cheat but he kept what little pride we have nowadays intact. Lee Williamson's a football genius Spot on, ain't the first to do it, won't be the last. He did exactly what I hoped he would do, sure thing is he was never winning that chase.
Backroom DE. Posted September 14, 2013 Backroom Posted September 14, 2013 Disappointing from Kane to give the ball away to Ings. We were really pressing for a winner in those last few minutes and it just took the edge off. Unfortunately Stu, Kane's a young lad and he'll make those types of mistakes. It comes with the territory when you have a young team.

Gav Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Dann is our leader at the back; thought he had a fine game. Dann and Hanley both had cracking games. Spot-on. We need to let the lad know what he's done for us. Some lily livered fans will point out that all he did was cheat but he kept what little pride we have nowadays intact. Lee Williamson's a football genius Never cheered a sending off so much in my life, especially a Rover player
rhodie Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Thought both teams looked panicky, nobody wanted to be responsible for a loss, that took a lot out of the game. This Rovers team normally play a lot better when they get the ball on the ground but credit to Burnley they never let us get into our stride.
thenodrog Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 We do need a leader at the back but the main problem is the gap between Rhodes and the midfield. Unfortunately I have noticed a significant gap between the defence and midfield too. Most goals against us this season are coming from men with acres of space just outside our box being allowed a free shot. Today I think it was Cairney who failed to get 'goal side' of his opponent and allowed Stanislas a free shot for their goal. Players 'switching off' to ball watch is costing us dear. Not only that but how gormless was Williamson and how much had he 'switched off'? Two yards in front and whilst obviously lacking for pace he only needed to step across in front of him and block him off and it was job done but instead he chose to leave space for a free run at the ball. Dragging him back was a good bit of work though. As for Marshall and Taylor the less said the better and whilst Dunne and Rochina are out Judge should be in that team all day long .

Don't agree about Williamson at all. He can't really be expected to anticipate Kane would miss his clearance. Also thought Taylor looked much livelier than Marshall.
Backroom Tom Posted September 14, 2013 Backroom Posted September 14, 2013 Marshall was poor but stick with him a bit yet he will have a point to prove at Leicester and it could kick start his career here Surprised Taylor hasn't been starting games though

Cairney was in behind Rhodes, how could an opposing midfielder be his man?? Marshall I agree about, Taylor looks an honest trier but nothing more. Find it strange that your critique doesn't include a mention of a particularly insipid performance from Lowe who did absolutely nothing of note.
cesus Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Well thank god for not losing that and coming away from 3 games with 7 points. I've said it all season and will say it again for good measure, we look twice the team with David Dunn playing. Somebody willing to come and take the ball, King is great at running but needs some direction when in advanced position and Dunn gives it. On today we looked pretty clueless to be brutally honest, we hoofed the ball the entire first half against a team that would have prayed we played that way. The last two games we played with the full backs pressing forwards making the opposition worry about us but we reverted to what I'd only describe as an "away performance". We have a young team that thrives on confidence surely pushing on rather than allowing the opposition to rough us up would be far more beneficial for us. I appreciate its a derby but we weren't playing QPR et al, stick to the game that has been so positive the last few games. On a final note, Keans confidence is at rock bottom I really hope it lifts soon!!
den Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Well........ Can't sell out an allocation - disgusting support. Keeper playing at least one division above his level, a back four that can't pick a pass, a midfield full of average joes. Very, very fortunate to get a point. the early season euphoria well and truly disappeared. Rovers weren't much better either.
Guest Norbert Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Did you have any euphoria Den? Odd to call yourself disgusting as well.

Guest Norbert Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Don't get too cocky Preston, Barry Bee (or whatever he's called) might rugby tackle you.
Gav Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 http://twitter.com/WarrenWarren126/status/378825507502321664/photo/1 That's fantastic, 6 fingers next to Bertie b*****d
Andy Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 I agree with the point on Jake K today. Looked shaky, irratic and almost cost us a couple of goals. A game like that is perfect for someone of Robbo's experience. Hopefully he'll be ready for a comeback in the new year.
Jock Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Don't get too cocky Preston, Barry Bee (or whatever he's called) might rugby tackle you. Dingle Bee usually likes to tackle naked men. He's a helmet toucher.
den Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Did you have any euphoria Den? Odd to call yourself disgusting as well. Did you not think that was funny?
Gav Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Let nobody underestimate the hurt they’ll be feeling right now, they’re so desperate to beat us its become an obsession, I'd make sure the shutters are down on the cash converters tonight I’m over the moon, not as good as Dunnys goal last season but its not half bad!
Derbyshire Blue Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 On that showing we won't get anywhere near promotion. We're too young and inexperienced. On that showing I think we'll be there or there abouts
thenodrog Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Cairney was in behind Rhodes, how could an opposing midfielder be his man?? I dont care if the nearest man had been Rhodes himself! Whether it was Cairney or whoever a free Burnley player had a clear shot on goal from right under their nose. Two paces back earlier and the chance wouldn't have materialised. It's bloody basic stuff LD.
