West Yorks Rover Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Myers isn't going to say too much, none of these people ever do, whether in football or any other big business, he'll be thinking of his future employment prospects. He won't want to end up like Mike Newell.

donnermeat Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Regarding these NDA's, I think the overriding factor for people signing them (and continued silence once they expire - if indeed they DO expire) is so they don't harm any potential future employment opportunities. He/she doesn't want to be seen as a potential troublemaker etc as most firms want their employees to tow the company line, regardless of what field it is in.

Yeah but Williams (don't know how old Finn is but same would apply) hasn't exactly got his whole career ahead of him has he? We know Williams wasn't exactly outspoken or massively high profile outside Blackburn. I didn't care then if he was outspoken or not but he should have courted the national press a little bit more instead of leaving Agnew's PR to it. Look what happened with Kean...perhaps it wouldn't have changed anything but still Williams didn't seem to go out his way to speak to national press. The club needs to look beyond the LT what if it gets shut down within a few years? You never know and highly doubt it will come close to Peter White's coverage (and those who preceded him people have spoken well of on here) ever again. The LT has been on decline as much as the club. Its hard in the Championship as its not like Sky have never been away from the ground despite Myers contacts. People here seem to prefer a "low key" chairman/owner figure. I disagree with the club being in the location its in there's more logic in being as high profile as possible. OK Jack wasn't in the press day in and day out but his ambition/finance more than made up for that.

Wouldn't it be nice though, if more people had the balls to tell it as it is for a change, what annoys me, is most of these people aren't exactly skint when they leave a position and are surely talented enough to make a decent living for themselves, without being cowards all their lives. What are the chances of being taken to court anyway, no company wants all their dirty linen washing in public. Mike Newell will always be able to walk tall, I feel a Val Doonican song coming on.

Not that tall after his rant about the female liner...I certainly cringed listening to him....Perhaps, Val has another song?

Suppose its the same reason fans won't go too far and risk arrest (other than things like the snowball incident) so we probably shouldn't expect them to take legal risks. Obviously by speaking out I can't imagine Williams/Finn being up for a scrap lol.

I think Messrs Williams and Finn are closing in on their 70 and 60 milestones respectively and I very much doubt they want the aggravation now. Their ages are another reason why IMV Rovers need to look beyond these two irrespective of whether Venkys remain owners or not.

Kinda like I said to Jim (even older is 93 accurate?) a while back though less to lose! Williams is probably 67 or 68 though not certain but think he might have been born in 1948. Or he was 48 when he joined perhaps not looking it up. Probably both.
AllRoverAsia Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Myers placed on gardening leave. The Ewood Farce continues....... http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/14453613.Blackburn_Rovers_director_Alan_Myers_placed_on_gardening_leave/?ref=mac Last Man Standing at Ewood - Mike Cheston has agreed to take responsibility for all operational aspects of the club going forward. FFS
Craigman Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 What really annoys me is that Derek Shaw is still a director of Blackburn Rovers. This should have been filed ages ago that he had left. Is he still running the club?
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Well, this news would indicate that some kind of 'contact' has been made between India and UK or at least the return of the mysterious Suhail. Lets hope further clarification of the future (although bound to be depressing) is forthcoming shortly. Perhaps some form of statement from Mike Chesterton would be appropriate- although he didn't put in an appearance at any of the public events (Q&A, tea party etc) however, so I'm not sure how he will take 'communication' forward - he's up there with Rob Coar in the anonymity stakes.
McClarky Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 So Mike Cheston us CEO, finance director, communications director and operations director all in 1. Brilliant. I don't know that much about corporate law but am surprised this is allowed.

More likely myeres let them know and the homing pigeon has only just got back to say on ya bike.

I don't know that much about corporate law but am surprised this is allowed. Anybody know what is the minimum criteria set out in the Football Association rules for governance for full member clubs? So our current crack governance team is a secretary, an all in operations/finance chap, The Queen of Pune as a Chairman, along with a non executive silent Fa Tie free luncher, who have I missed?

I don't know that much about corporate law but am surprised this is allowed. Simply put one man no matter what his qualifications and qualities cannot do it all. Complete and utter fecking chaos reigns and I'm pig sick of those chicken t-wats. On the communications aspect does Cheston have any experience at all - as far as I know the invisible Indian keeps out of the limelight. Ewood will be an even more silent place.
Athlete Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Think this now proves that we need them gone asap as with them it's not going to get pretty and without them the same but at least we'll be rid I wonder what there up to? Is there end game approaching? Or more than likely there still confused 😕
Athlete Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 So Mike Cheston is the CEO going forwardGoing forward to where ? The club is dying chaddy if you think PL is going to be backed with a substantial transfer budget to be ratified by some Indian advisor's.. You're sadly Barking up the wrong tree A couple of interesting comments as well in the LT
Speedie Dived Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Damming statement from Myers. If we wanted further proof that we are heading in the wrong direction then this statement from our own director of comms proves it.
BlueMonday Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Just goes to show how dysfunctional Venkys 'Empire' is. Myers announced this weeks ago and they are just getting round to dealing with him. They had better communication in the Wild West than they do in Pune. I wonder if they have flushing toilets at Venky Towers?
Gav Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 The circus continues, I wonder what Lambert thinks of this? Just another day in Venkyville, another shambles, when will this all end?
Athlete Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 The circus continues, I wonder what Lambert thinks of this? Just another day in Venkyville, another shambles, when will this all end? Asap hopefully they may as well put us out of our misery as the longer it goes on the worse it will get Somehow and somewhere we're going to have to start the long road back I'll be surprised if Lambert and Irvine haven't already made their minds up a few weeks ago... Lambert's interviews keep alluding to something I can't put my finger on though
