Talking of N'zonzi the Express are linking him to Arsenal with Chelsea, City and Juve interested. Sure Balaji will have already earmarked the sell on Claire or spent it on his New Years party...

Think they've already trousered that money when he left Stoke to join Sevilla. Rovers kept quiet about it presumably to reduce the expectation that they would reinvest it into the squad, but I think it got lost between the Cairney, Gestede and King millions.

So we are deep in the mire and what is being done about it.

The transfer window is now upon us.

Is there any plan to get us out of this,

Is there any urgency to acquire the players OC has surely identified we need to get us out of trouble. One assumes he has done his homework.

After 6 months in the job surely the perennial problem of midfield and leaking goals has been seen as the areas to address or does everyone believe Lowe, Feeney, Evans and Conway will get us out of this. No chance.

The Sound of Silence is deafening from Pune.

The club keep issuing hollow promises made to keep the hope up. Must have been similar to this in Stalingrad as a German soldier as hope changes to abandonment.

More of that B'llocks today I read about us carrying a threat and we are hard to beat.

No one believes a word of it anymore. Sorry even my kids don't fall for that rubbish any longer.

No the Pune scorched earth policy continues.as actions and inaction speaks louder than words.

It is just a question of which gutter we will die in now.

.

I think we possible 5 players in this window. A keeper, right back, centre back, centre midfielder and 3rd striker(pace).

But the biggest problem is lack of a budget from the owners and Coyle cant planned cos the players he wants might not be available/gone elsewhere by the time he get a response from Pune. Its a pathetic way to run the club.

IMO, the manager should know the budget come start of November/mid November so he can plan his targets and do a final scouting report on them.

Problem is we are not a normal club or run that way. So its complete mess

It is pretty simple really, the cupboard is bare and we will not make any signings freebie loans or otherwise. I think it is more likely that we will have a shock transfer out, for example Graham, who has scored a few and might just attract the attention of a mid table team. No way would Coyle not have known by now, if we had money to spend, so as usual, the owners or rather Balaji, will but his head in the sand and hope it will go away.

He's back! Some excellent news. Not rumour but from the horses mouth. Rovers are re-signing a former star. Could be the difference for us staying up or going down...

"Moderation is the key to getting the correct procedure for Blackburn"

£1 million lol. Nixon up to his old tricks.

Rovers want the cash up front so Coyle can use it to make 2-3 signings....yeah right

Try an 'undisclosed fee' of about £250,000 up front and a £250,000 saving on his wages.

Reinvestment will amount to a couple of loans being sanctioned.

When your bringing in loans or frees you shouldn't really need it up front and let's face it he isn't going to get much with that anyway. His wages and Bennett off the books will be the only thing reinvested if anything and the fee with be swallowed up somewhere.

Mears & Barnes in maybe if this goes through ?

£1 million pounds for a player with 6 months left on his contract is criminal, the Venky's certainly are good at screwing a fee out of people

Just trying the think back. Has Marshall's lack of interest coincided with Lambert getting a job?

  • Backroom

He's been like this his career here and before, flashes of brilliance between long periods of going through the motions.

He was unplayable a few seasons back before he injured himself In a silly tackle

Marshall has been wanting out for past 18 months IMO.

I think anyone with ambition has wanted out for the last 18 months. Players will always come and go but I can't find a single 'upgrade' in the last six years. His going is not good news at all just another lowering of the standards.

Don't fall for it Chaddy if we had a good manager, boardroom and where heading in the right direction he would not want away. These are championship players at best that want out, a well run Rovers would be a massive draw to his level of player.

He's probably wanted out since Rovers made it clear they wanted him out, which yes is probably for the last 18 months.

When a football club treats its prized assets as nothing more than chips to cash in to pay the bills for a few months and has zero intention of assembling a squad of quality, reinvesting or attempting to get promoted then inevitably those players good enough to attract interest from other clubs will begin to look elsewhere.

Of course this could have been avoided. Rovers could have fought to keep people like Cairney and Rhodes rather than push them out the door and trouser the millions. Rovers could have reinvested a fraction of the countless millions into good players to at least try and progress. Rovers could have offered Marshall a new deal 12 months ago but chose to leave it until the vultures were circling.

He's another one that will be playing for a top half/top six Championship club 12 months from now whilst we'll be at best in the same position we are now.

A million quid for him is fiction aimed at pacifying Rovers fans unhappy that yet another player is being sold after being lied to for the last 4 months as they claimed he was close to a new deal. I'd be surprised if a new deal had even been offered.
