The only thing Brereton has ever been good at is running inside with the ball, or getting on to a through ball. Now all we are ever doing is encouraging him to play pass and move stuff. He’s technically really poor and gets by on his pace and power and frightens teams with his unorthodox clumsiness.

His technical limitations explain (but don’t excuse) that miss too. If he’d got there before it was bouncing up he’d have bundled it in.

The usual tactical approach on display. Slow passing by a team lacking in pace, skill and physicality. Morton jogging around on the pitch, as usual being overpowered by the opposing midfield, and offering very little creativity in possession. How is he the first name on the team sheet? He will be gone after this season, so how is he helping "the project"?

He's like Armstrong - clearly not good enough for the PL, which is why I was desperate to cash in.

He hasn't shown that his passing is anywhere near good enough for that.

His abysmal cross-field excuse for a pass against Rotherham really started the rot

He's certainly made a few bad ones - that one in particular was awful - but over the course of the season I think his passing has been pretty good overall.
