Don't know if the words "world class" were used but it was obvious he was really special. Never seen a debut like it. 3 Quote
den Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Some people could see just how talented he was and how special he was. Some people could see just how he stood out from even the best youngsters we’ve had over 60+ years. Some people thought he was a very good player. 4 Quote

It was the quality of his passing that stood out for me. A lot of one touch stuff that meant he was very rarely caught in possession. Always where the player receiving the ball wanted it. Always with just the right amount of pace on the ball. He was Tugayesque and still a teenager. As you say even the dogs in the street could see he was special talent. Anybody who thought Lowe was a footballer disqualified themselves from making a comment on Wharton. The first time I saw him play I was genuinely shocked. What did he bring to the game ? He could run a bit, tackle a bit, pass it 10 yards to a team mate, head it bit. Was he a game changer like Wharton is ? Never in a million years. 6 Quote
arbitro Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I first saw him at 17 and he had the 'wow' factor. He was one move ahead of the other players and more often than not knew where his next pass was going before he got the ball. His head swivels constantly. I'm proud of his Rovers connection but disgusted at the way he was sacrificed because of the owners misdemenours. And add the insulting remarks by Pasha which compounded another sorry tale in the history of the last decade and a half. 8 Quote

He can split a defence with one touch from deep midfield. Not many can do that. 4 Quote
Bronzed A Donis Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I can only think Palace have asked for him not to be selected for these friendlies. 1 Quote

The only reason some people thought Adam was casual or wasteful was because he was streets ahead in terms of knowing where the ball should go and players should be compared to his teammates. I sometimes wonder if some scouts wouldn't commit to him because they didn't recognise that. 1 Quote

I know how you felt with how the whole transfer was handled Tony and fully agree. It is about as shocking as it gets, how we threw this away and how we treated not only a superb talent, but a Rovers fan and from a Rovers supporting family. One other huge thing to say, not the slightest sign of him refusing to sign a contract, like many before him. That ensured Rovers at least got something for him, despite it being the steal of the century for Palace. The fans and the Wharton family did not deserve to be let down like this and Pasha should have been immediately handed his notice, with the comments he made in the fans forum. No wonder he wanted the real version of the minutes hidden. Edited 20 minutes ago by lraC Typo 3 Quote
