RevidgeBlue Posted yesterday at 10:38 Posted yesterday at 10:38 In a normal year the home kit would have been OK apart from the changed halves but the lack of reference to the Anniversary is an absolute disgrace. The Green and yellowish kits are absolutely hideous. No proper badge on either, they might as well be cheap imitation knock offs. I completely disagree with the poster above - along with the pink kit last year these are 3 of the worst kits we've ever had. Macron/whoever is picking them need sacking off. Sorry if it sounds like I'm picking on the FF again but did they get chance to pass comment on this year's kits? Quote

RevidgeBlue Posted yesterday at 10:56 Posted yesterday at 10:56 Also, it's a football kit, I dont want a pictorial representation of the town on it, but if they had decided that images were essential they should have related to our footballing history, Bob Crompton, Clayton and Duggie, Faz, Simon Garner, Tony Parkes, Jack, Kenny, Shearer etc. Not Darwen Tower and the fucking Wainwright Bridge. They really couldn't have got it more wrong if they'd tried. 2 Quote
Mattyblue Posted yesterday at 11:02 Posted yesterday at 11:02 I was about to say, I thought we were supposed to be commemorating 150 years of Blackburn Rovers, not 150 years of the Borough of Blackburn with Darwen…. Suppose it’s telling that they are steering clear of celebrating the actual football club they’ve completely fucked over. 6 Quote
London blue Posted yesterday at 11:54 Posted yesterday at 11:54 I get not liking a kit or kits but to completely ignore how subjective their appeal is and to call for heads to roll is laughable, sorry. The home strip looks cheap and uninspiring, but I think the away and third are gorgeous. Quote
Hasta Posted yesterday at 12:12 Posted yesterday at 12:12 (edited) The idea doesn't bother me although we are celebrating the club not the town so I'd have preferred older images relating to Ewood and the club in general. I don't like the fact that the 'print' is a darker colour falling on the yellow which means it looks predominantly a kind of a dirty mustardy brown colour. I'd have preferred it to be a base colour which didn't go such crappy shade when it goes darker. Red or grey maybe. Also makes it a bit more subtle. Edited yesterday at 12:20 by Hasta 1 Quote
Proudtobeblue&white Posted yesterday at 12:25 Author Posted yesterday at 12:25 Why didn't they celebrates our success, with the years we won stuff all around the base of the shirt - celebrate the club, not the town? 3 Quote

roversfan99 Posted yesterday at 12:36 Posted yesterday at 12:36 The green one is quite nice, this one is a bit grim. Quote

All part of the 'Rovers IS Blackburn' strategy - only refer to Blackburn/Darwen landmarks, only make any effort to promote the club/sell tickets in Blackburn/Darwen, only engage sponsors based in Blackburn/Darwen. Smaller and smaller we go. Quote

What as in (for example) "Venky's/ Steve Kean/ Waggott/ Pasha/Gestede they're not really for me but it's fair enough if other people like them" Whilst you seem completely happy for people on here to have a broad range of opinions on anything you seem completely intolerant of any criticism of anything that's said at the Forum and want to take your bat and ball home anytime anyone says anything critical. We all get that everyone gives up their time for free etc and we are all appreciative of that but no-one forces you to do it and you have to accept that not everyone will agree with what the Club say or do or the responses all the time. In fact probably not very often in the current climate. Edited 23 hours ago by RevidgeBlue Quote

In fact probably not very often in the current climate. Come on Simon. There's a world of difference between opinions on a shirt design and opinions on how the club has been run for the last 15 years. I find the idea that K-Hod has somehow become an apologist for the club since he joined the Forum to be completely ridiculous - I've heard him expressing his opinions strongly in meetings. That he might post what someone from the club said at a Forum doesn't mean that he agreed with it, any more than if I was doing it. As far as shirts go I have never owned or desired to own a Rovers shirt, so am pretty agnostic on the designs. But I realise that lots of people want to buy one or more every year and wear it often and that's fine. From time to time we have had input on potential designs but have never been directly involved in any final decisions. Given the lead times I imagine we are already too late now to affect the 2026-27 designs. I bought a few shirts for my sons when they were young and I asked for a 125th anniversary shirt as a present when they came out but my wife ignored my entreaties to buy one when they came out and missed them. So I will be getting a 150th shirt when they are launched. I'm guessing that it might be blue and white. 1 Quote
Backroom Mike E Posted 23 hours ago Backroom Posted 23 hours ago I think that print would’ve worked on the green kit (which I like, and reflects the colours of the town badge). In this, it doesn’t work imo. Would’ve been better to have in subtle font the names of the greats who have played for our club instead of copy/paste landmark pictures. 1 Quote

Had a panel down one side that had Rovers crest replicated in different sizes then repeated on one of the arms, both home and away had 'grandad collars', sponsored by CIS Ohhhh yeh, I remember. Quote

I haven't seen the minutes for the last meeting but in the meeting or two before that I complimented him on seemingly being the only one prepared to ask a difficult question or two. I do think the Forum is far too soft on the Club in general given what's happened in the last 3 years or so. K Hod seems to particularly resent any criticism of the FF as a body and that's fine, its his prerogative as a member. Specifically on the shirts every year you'll probably get some people who think they're atrocious, some who think they're absolutely fantastic and some who think they're a bit "meh". If you think they're atrocious you should be allowed to say so - it's a free country. In general if a lot more people think they're atrocious than fantastic then the Club are probably doing something wrong. If it's vice versa then the person who doesn't like them is going to have to lump it. I can't stand the pink shirt personally but I acknowledge it seems to have been generally very popular. I think this year's shirts are far worse. It's an anniversary year and they needed to be really special and they're particularly poor imo. That said Im not half as annoyed by the Colours as the general lack of acknowledgment of the anniversary, the fact we're wearing away colours at home and the change to the halves which all seem to be an obvious watering down of the expectation we'll always play in our traditional colours. Maybe not the most pressing thing to complain about under this ownership. Just another thing. Quote

I think this attitude in some ways comes with being a moderator, he keeps having a pop at me on the other side of the forum, quite right to if he feels the need, but this moderator stuff is done out of the goodness of his heart, the forum stuff too, we need to keep that in mind. He wouldn't be the first moderator to be accused of the above and he certainly won't be the last. Keep up the good work @K-Hod, you're walking the walk and not as many do, just talking the talk. On this 3rd kit, I hate the badge in the middle, I hated the last time we had a badge in the middle too, its shoddy and lacks any sort of imagination. Quote
dingles staying down 4ever Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago IMO it is bloody awful. I hope we use the third kit rather than that turd kit 1 Quote
JHRover Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I'm interested to know when and where we will need to wear the green third kit given the colours of our home and second strips. Who will decide? Quote

... Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Honestly I'm not a fan. I'm so used to Blue n White/red n black. I just don't think trying to sell it with snappy videos works. Don't particularly like the green one either but that's only because I'm not a green fan. I've grown to like the home shirt tbh looks good and that's a changed opinion on its first release Quote
